    I've noticed this, when you go under surgery to get your sutures opened, and expander. After, many people have a lisp? what causes this. I'm highly interested in this Maxillary Expansion due to my incisor overlapping another. since my childhood and I believe I have a high arching palate. I haven't seen any orthodontic/dental professional in 6 years and I'm currently 18. I talked to my mom about seeing an Orthodontist and we're gonna see the dentist first she said in 2 weeks. I also really want to avoid having to take out my wisdom teeth because I also understand teeth can help structure the face a little bit. Do you have any advice for when I meet the Dentist because I want to also see an Orthodontist.

    Hi!!! I just had my first ever sleep study done and am new to this whole space. I was diagnosed with mild apnea with an arousal index of 30. The recommendation was to get a CPAP machine. I am not a mouth breather but was wondering if this is the best option? As I would have to use the CPAP forever and am worried about it causing further irritation. It seems that surgery could be a permanent solution. Just looking for honest thoughts here!

    • @RyanWilliams222
      @RyanWilliams222 Před měsícem

      It might end up being your best solution, but you have to try CPAP (and/or BiPAP and/or APAP) first. And you should probably try a mandibular advancement device (AKA “oral appliance”) first, too….after the CPAP, that is, assuming CPAP doesn’t do the trick for you. Don’t get discouraged. Take it one step at a time. Know that you might be having more than just mild sleep apnea if your arousal index is 30; not all tests can detect all breathing problems. If you want to learn a lot, check out Evan’s older videos, and listen to the podcast Sleep Apnea Stories (hosted by Emma Cooksey). You have to take the information in Sleep Apnea Stories with a grain of salt (I heard that Vivos appliances don’t work very well, for example), but there is a lot of good stuff to learn in there. I’ve binged the first 55 episodes so far.
