    Amazing sound compared to other seminar (kk pure mini).. I just fitted one in my Cort Gold O6, and so happy with the sound; I now also fit one I’m my Eastman E6D.. the saving here is better invested in a good pre-amp. Happy camper here..

    Guys the true strumming patter here is DDDDU and DUD DDU. The first chord the player with the first strumming pattern, the second chord with second pattern, the third one with the first pattern again and the 4th one with the second patter. In this way the whole song is played

    I repair acoustics and also teach acoustic guitar to beginners; it's mission field. One of the greatest joys is watching them perform at recitals, but most have entry level instruments, with cheap ply soundboards, so I loaned them my spare, a beautiful S6 Seagull, to which was added a K&K peizo pickup. I gave this guitar to a close friend, who has blossomed beyond belief, and needed a performance instrument. Depending on playability and sound, I'm replacing it with another loaner, either a Seagull Signature, or a Fender GS25S, both solid wood instruments; whichever has the best tone and sustain will be the recipient. I'll need to install another peizo, and am looking at this Journey peizo. By the way the first musical piece made me soar. What's the picking pattern. Any chance of TAB?

    • @journeyinstruments

    How does the Bluetooth work? Will this device allow you to connect to your Bluetooth on your stereo and play the guitar through stereo speakers?

    • @journeyinstruments
      @journeyinstruments Před 2 měsíci

      It receives Bluetooth signal, but doesn't send it. That means you can connect it to you any Bluetooth device that plays music and it will play the music through your headphones so you can jam to the music while using the Passport!

    Tip: do NOT replace your original strap button. Instead drill a new hole about 6” lower down the bout for the new pickup jack (like an electric guitar). This way you can use your original strap button for a strap which is far superior.

    ATTENTION ALL GUITARISTS: Although this is a great instructional video, THERE IS A MUCH BETTER WAY TO INSTALL THIS SYSTEM ( or the K&K Pure Mini, both install the same way ) !!! PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING ON HOW TO NOT ONLY DO A MORE PRECISE INSTALLATION, BUT IT'S ALSO MUCH QUICKER & EASIER!!! >>>> Do NOT use that thin, wimpy mounting jig & toothpick to glue each transducer in place, one at a time. Instead, use an old credit/debit card ( or any plastic material that is about the same size & thickness as a debit/credit card ) .....you can also use one of those "fake" credit cards you get in the mail for credit card offers. If the card has the 16 digit account number embossed onto the card ( "embossed" means that the 16 digit numbers are stamped & raised, not flush.....sort of like "brail" for blind people ) then simply flip the card so that the embossed 16 digit numbers are FACING DOWN. ( When upright, the embossed numbers won't allow a flat/flush fit of the pickup transducers.......flipping the card upside down DOES allow a flat/flush fitment. ) Using a small light and mirror placed inside the guitar, position the debit card on the bridge plate to see how it fits. Trim the debit card's length if necessary, and trim 2 of the corners off the card to clear any X-bracing inside the guitar. Trim only enough of the debit card for proper fitment to the bridge plat underneath, ya don't want to trim "too much" off of the card. Take your time and trim only small amounts of the card off at first. Repeat if necessary, until you have the card trimmed to the correct size/dimensions. Remove the saddle from it's slot in the bridge ( this is only temporary, so you can mark the saddle position on the debit card as well as mark the EXACT position of the 6 bridge pin holes. ) Next, position the card so that the edge of the card is just in front of the bridge pin holes, so that you can carefully mark the VERY CENTER of all 6 bridge pin holes using a black Sharpie marker. When making these marks, make only very small hash marks with the Sharpie to represent THE EXACT CENTER position of each bridge pin hole, for good precision. Then use a straight edge and draw a straight line on the card through all 6 dots you made with the Sharpie, so that you have a perfect pattern made for all 6 bridge pin holes on the debit card. Using the black Sharpie again, do the same thing for the exact position of the bridge saddle slot. NOTE: YOUR SADDLE & THE SADDLE SLOT MAY BE ANGLED SLIGHTLY ON THE BRIDGE, SO MAKE SURE YOU DRAW YOUR STRAIGHT LINE THAT REPRESENTS THE EXACT POSITION & ANGLE OF THE SADDLE SLOT IN RELATION TO THE BRIDGE PIN HOLES VERY CAREFULLY. ( Per the instructions from Journey Tek, the pickup transducers should be centered directly beneath the saddle location. ) All of this is much easier to do than it seems. Then, using the correct size drill bit and a block of scrap wood, lay the card on the block of wood & carefully drill ONLY the 2 holes for the exact position of each outer E-string. THIS NOW ENABLES YOU TO USE 2 GOLF TEE'S INSTEAD OF THAT THIN TOOTHPICK. (more on this later here ) You will NOT need to drill holes for the remaining 4 bridge pin holes, instead, the marks you made for these 4 bridge pin holes (for the A, D, G, and B string) will simply be used to locate the supplied putty to position each transducer properly BETWEEN each pair of strings ( 3 pickup transducers positioned between 6 strings makes sense. ) Take your time with these previous steps, it's not that difficult, but get it right. Once all of this is done, (should only take a few minutes ) you now have A MUCH IMPROVED MOUNTING JIG/TEMPLATE which will allow you to use TWO golf tee's. ( If ya don't have an extra golf tee, go borrow or buy one. ) Do NOT use the toothpick that is provided, instead, use TWO golf tee's. Do NOT use one of your bridge pins as "the 2nd golf tee". Use ONLY 2 golf tee's. These 2 golf tee's will be used the same way, only each golf tee WILL ENSURE A PRECISE FITMENT LOCATION IN THE BRIDGE PIN HOLES FOR BOTH OUTER E-STRINGS for your custom mounting jig/template that you just made using an old debit/credit card. Now that your new custom made mounting jig/template is ready to use, follow the same instructions from Journey Tek using the mounting/locating putty, but the advantage is you can now INSTALL ALL 3 TRANSDUCERS AT THE SAME TIME!!! ...........WARNING>>> BEFORE INSTALLATION, ALWAYS USE A LIGHT AND A MIRROR INSIDE YOUR GUITAR TO MAKE SURE YOUR BRIDGE PLATE IS CLEAN & FREE OF ANY DEBRIS, SAWDUST, OR SPLINTERS THAT MAY BE PRESENT FROM WHEN THE GUITAR WAS ORIGINALLY BUILT!!! You want the bridge plate to be clean, so the Super Glue/Gorilla Glue GEL has a clean surface to adhere to. Lay the card on the top of the bridge & install BOTH golf tee's, then locate & stick all 3 pickup transducers onto the debit card using the supplied putty. With all 3 transducers placed on the debit card using the putty, do NOT apply the Super Glue/Gorilla Glue GEL yet.........you want to make a few "practice runs" inside the guitar, to get used to how it is accomplished. Practice on the inside of the guitar, to locate & line up the 2 holes in the card with the 2 golf tee's, and pretend like you're doing the actual installation by pressing the card up against the bridge plate. Do this several times, to get used to the procedure & gain confidence. ( If you're not very skilled with your hands, get someone who IS skilled to do this installation, or pay a professional luthier. But most people CAN do this job themselves. ) I recommend using your thumb on one edge of the card, and your MIDDLE 2 fingers on the opposite edge of the card, for better grip & control. When you're ready to do the actual installation, apply the glue on each transducer, and once you have the card positioned onto both golf tee's from inside the guitar & pressed up against the bridge plate, quickly & carefully place all 4 fingers on the card to apply even pressure. The other added advantages of using this custom-made jig, is that you can now use all 4 fingers to press the card with all 3 transducers into place with much better control. Also: this improved custom mounting jig ensures that all 3 transducers are perfectly located. ALWAYS make a few "practice/dry runs" to properly locate BOTH golf tee's, before actually gluing the transducers into place. This improved, custom made jig actually makes this job MUCH faster, easier, and more precise!!! I used this method to install the Journey Tek EP001K pickup system in all 4 of my acoustic guitars at once, in a fraction of the time. IT WORKED GREAT!!! IT WILL WORK GREAT FOR YOU TOO, TRUST ME!!!
