Thanks for posting! I had this record and book many years ago and recently acquired a replacement. I am really curious about who the performers on this are. Was Gary And an actual garage band? Internet searches have been futile. I believe that Kay music put this out in the early 70s. Any other info would be appreciated.

Sounds a lot like "Tequila". It must have been issued around 1958-59 when that song was popular.
It appears this particular song was released in 1963, so I agree with you - it borrowed from "Tequila".
