I forgot the actresses name (edit: I think her name is Maria), but she is Ukrainian. I think from what I remember, she came to India during the war between Ukraine and Russia. That's when she got the opportunity to act in this movie. She had to learn English in order to communicate with people in India, the staff, actors, etc. in this movie. Original is always original.... Yes as I'm a malaylee... I love manichitrathazhu ..... But as for chandramuki it's remake movie and It went so well and as for juothika, Prabhu, Vineeth, rajni, vadivelu , Sheela, nasar, Nayanthara and others did their roles to the best.... I laugh and I admire Tamil version also .... Don't disgrace anyone and compare anyone... Hats off to all the movies ....

I think the difference between both movies is that in 'Manichitrathaazhu,' Shobana's character is going through a psychological problem. She's not possessed or something; her personality changes are all happening because of what she went through in her childhood. She was a vulnerable character, which is why a new story and environment affected her so much. It's all happening inside her head. Whereas in 'Chandramukhi,' Jyothika's character actually gets possessed by a power, so it's more like just a horror movie.
