      For my son it took four months of home stretches and exercises to help him strengthen his weak side. He was late to crawl and walk because of low muscle tone too. Your kiddo is 11 months, continue to monitor his gross motor milestones and be sure to tell your doctor any other red flags. Some examples are, hand dominance this young, delays in walking, difficulty in feeding himself, and any deformities of his head. I hope these things to look out for are helpful.

    I was diagnosed this year at 23. My brother was 3. Let me tell you, I have repetitive behaviors, but I was quiet about them. I was misdiagnosed with OCD. I also have ADHD, and was diagnosed late. Girls are expected to be pretty and quiet. Boys are given more opportunities to fail. Socialization has a lot more to do with it than people realize. Men and women are more similar than anyone would think. There are stereotypes that men don’t get social cues while women are nest and organized. A girl lining up toys is seen as favorable behavior. Many doctors don’t take women seriously, and I was evaluated twice before getting a diagnosis. Socialization is to blame.

      I am so glad you are looking for ways to do things better! I would recommend learning from autistic adults on IG. Honor the individual’s abilities and be an advocate for your clients. Be mindful to speak up to your supervisors when they assign goals that are not neurodiversity affirming- I.e. forcing eye-contact, changing the way they play, taking favorite toys/items in order to promote “compliance”. And most importantly, always PRESUME COMPETENCE! ! If you event have more questions don’t hesitate to reach out to me via instagram also.

    I don't know the doctors don't say that the best thing when babies have rash (in that moment) they should be cleaned very well, it means, to be washed with water. Water is the best thing. The problem is the most of babies are not cleaned very well after they poop. It would prevent the bacteria from spreading and it cleans easily. Of course you should dry that area.

  • @cecynay7369
    @cecynay7369 Před měsícem

    Not effective for... a tantrum? How about taking something they shouldn't, or disobeying? Are those tied to big feelings? When are they expected to manage their own feelings because someone or something else comes first (as is expected of adults)? When does the parent get to say "you've been testing me all day, and III need you out of my space for a bit". It's our job to teach our children lessons that the world will expect them to have mastered, because if we don't the world will teach it much less gently. So if gently explaining things and talking about feelings doesn't work, sometimes obeying and figuring it out through trial and error with us is what's needed.

    • @mightykiddos
      @mightykiddos Před měsícem

      The important thing when disciplining is to try not to shame our children. But it is most important to be consistent, we will never be perfect. I guide my son to his calming corner, a lot of the times kiddos need to be removed from the situation that is causing them distress.

    • @cecynay7369
      @cecynay7369 Před měsícem

      @@mightykiddos So then we're just disagreeing about semantics. You call it a calming corner, I call it "a break" and some call it time out. I think it all depends on how we handle our emotions and theirs in the process. I think their feelings matter, but not anymore than anyone else's. Sometimes we just need to cut it out and not think so much about our feelings, unless there's something big actually happening for us, emotionally. In other words, I don't bring up emotions unless that's obviously what needs to be addressed with my child. Otherwise, I'd be placing a LOT of weight on something that isn't tied directly to reality or reliability.

    • @mightykiddos
      @mightykiddos Před měsícem

      @@cecynay7369well the calming corner is quite different than “time out”. The calming corner is an opportunity for co-regulating. When a kiddo has lost control if his emotion, they are in fact disregulated. I walk him over to a calming corner to reset. This allows my kiddo to gain control of his emotions and make better choices regarding his behavior. The main thing I emphasize on the longer video regarding this too is is that “time outs” typically have been used as punishment- punishment shames kiddos and does not offer a way to reset and make better choices in a wholesome way.

    Times are weird and Jesus is on his way to rescue all believers before the antichrist is revealed to the world. Rapture is soon you all repent and give your heart to Jesus today, before it’s too late ⏰ This some truths about what we will have in Jesus if we give our hearts to Him, repent of our sins and live for Him. There are many things that the Holy Spirit says we have in Christ. In fact, we are graciously given every spiritual blessing in Him (Ephesians 1:3). Here are nine of those blessings: 1. PEACE “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
(Romans 5:1) 2. REDEMPTION “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace…”
(Ephesians 1:7) 3. ETERNAL LIFE “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.”
(1 John 5:13) 4. THE SPIRIT OF ADOPTION “For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!'”
(Romans 8:15) 5. STRONG CONSOLATION/ENCOURAGEMENT “…so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.”
Hebrews 6:18) 6. A SURE AND STEADFAST ANCHOR “We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain”
(Hebrews 6:19) 7. A GREAT HIGH PRIEST “Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven”
(Hebrews 8:1) 8. A GLORIFIED BODY IN RESERVE “For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”
(2 Corinthians 5:1) 9. PROVISION “We have an altar…”
(Hebrews 8:10) JESUS Came to Earth in a human body: Died on the cross for our sins. God raised Him to life three days later He is the Son of God, The Savior of the world, The Messiah. Believe and be led. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16 Pray this and be set free: Lord I want a love walk with you I want to absolutely fall in love you I want to everyday know you as my very very best friend I want Personal relationship with you. Please forgive me for my sins. I repent of all of my known and unknown sins. Led me to your truth in Jesus name I pray 🙏 Amen

      That’s so wonderful, I was raised by #1 style parenting and it was harsh but it was also acceptable in our society. Consider yourself very blessed!

    I'm both 1 and 3... depends on the situation and what's needed in that moment and for the individual child. Kids need to see both, so they understand the difference and consequences.

    • @mightykiddos
      @mightykiddos Před 3 měsíci

      I agree with the need to act as #1 at times, some kiddos do need firmer boundaries but the important thing to know is that we should strive to be #3 as much as possible. Children get their internal voice from the way parents/guardians speak to them. The most powerful aspect of #3 is that you connect with your kiddo heart to heart.

    For me it was a healthy mix of both the 1st and 2nd..not overly punished..but i did get wooped..but i was loved so much..and both parents helped with school and social life..but in my teens my father was absent and mom was going through it with cancer..so me and my brothers party alot as late teens

    My son is 4 years old with sleep issues. I am so confused on the ratios. Are you saying 1 oz of tart cherry juice concentrate or 1 oz of tart cherry juice from let’s say, the brand Lakewood organic, tart cherry juice, not from concentrate?

    • @mightykiddos
      @mightykiddos Před 4 měsíci

      @shanaDance I refer to the dosage of juice (not from concentrate)- hope that helps.

    My baby is now 7 months old. She has been having a hard time with sucking . She is always bottle fed. We always need to press her cheek to help her suck better. Now its getting harder for her to suck. Does this excercise help with her sucking?

    • @mightykiddos
      @mightykiddos Před 7 měsíci

      It may help, however, there can be a number of things that can affect her sucking pattern and it is always best to have her checked by a lactation consultant or even a feeding therapist. It is not typical for 7 month olds to struggle when sucking- she may need a bit more assistance. Let me know how it all turns out.

    Do you apply diaper rash cream and then top it off with cornstarch or only use cornstarch directly on the baby?

    • @mightykiddos
      @mightykiddos Před 7 měsíci

      I cannot say, it is best to always consult with a pediatrician. I know there are calming holistic things to can give children but it’s the parent’s responsibility to research it and make sure their aren’t any possible side effects. 😘
