BrickFair Virginia 2024! [vlog]
It's been three years since I last attended BrickFair Virginia, so I decided to go again this year. I brought my trains and displayed with the LGMS layout there and had a great time. Here's my perspective of the time I was there.

Great Scale Model Train Show February 2024 - Timonium, Maryland [vlog]

Only a month late this time - my vlog from the train show in Timonium Maryland in early February 2024. Compared to Amherst just the weekend before, this show was incredibly relaxed. I didn't spend as much time walking around this weekend but was enjoying running some trains and railfanning the layout. Enjoy.

Santa once again visits the Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum on December 9, 2023. Morehead & North Fork #12 was under steam for the day and provided guests with a short but sweet ride from the visitors center to the roundhouse and then on to see St. Nick himself, who was seated in stall 6. A truly fun day - here's what it looked like through the lens of my camera. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Norfolk & Western 611: First Class on the Buckingham Branch

Cale and I visited Goshen, Virginia on October 22 to ride behind Norfolk and Western J class 611 on the Virginia Scenic Railway. Our trip was in the Pontchartrain Club, a round-end observation lounge formerly used on Illinois Central trains. The scenery along the line was spectacular- we were in the peak Fall color season. We met up with some friends after the first ride and did some chasing on...

I bought a ticket for the Indiana Fall Colors Train behind Nickel Plate Road 765 on October 8, 2023. Two friends and I shared a compartment in the 1949 stainless steel Pullman "Woodland Stream" and were whisked away back to rail travel in the late 1940's. It was a perfect day with lots to enjoy. Again I put off publishing this video for months... but better late than never, right? The EBT come back is one of the biggest preservation stories from recent memory (so far...) and the winter spectacular was their comeback event in which 2-8-2 no. 16 was operating for the first time since the 1950's. Amazing weekend with some great friends and plenty of epic narrow gauge steam action. Disclai...

Hi I’m trying to make my first Lego steam locomotive moc and I was wondering how you made the tender trucks on this moc
@@Nightmonkey1953 there are some instructions for similar truck designs online - I’d start there.
@@GlennHolland ok thank you
amazing vlog 🙌
Great vlog for BrickFair! I really like the idea of the staging yard in the middle. Congrats on the award for the EOTN local freight! Very well deserved!
@@strasburg0192 glad you enjoyed! Thank you!
Getting recognized from yt📈📈📈
@@MackBricks wasn’t even the first time 😅
Thank for including the mini switching session. That was a lot of fun.
@@caleleiphart7408 it was fun for sure!
It’s crazy how much people take Advantage of Lego because this type of stuff Lego is jealous of(love the vid BTW)
2:35 where can I get that shirt
@@RailfanLoy I got mine on eBay, it’ll probably come up if you search for emperor of the north
Ever so slightly, I MADE IT INTO THE VLOG! Yes!
@@matthewlech3228 indeed!
Great to see a new train show vlog!
@@camdenparadise glad you enjoyed!
Glad to see and hear your videos again Glenn. Hope you have new locomotives this year.
@@jquarters1896 I hope to have some too.
Glenn, do the BMR Kadee couplers have enough swing to handle R40 curves? I'd love to use them on my trains, but I'm nervous about their ability to actually pivot far enough
@@sambrown6426 they should have enough play in them, especially if you mount them to the trucks of the cars.
@@GlennHolland Thanks
OP&E 19 is the former mccloud River Railroad 19
They have a similar model of this at train mountain in Oregon. It is 1:8 scale and made out of wood. If you have the chance, you should go to TM, they have 35 miles of 7.5 inch gauge track.
Do you use discord? Cause I have photos of some of the cars used in the film and I’d like to show you and possibly provide additional details
You make my artwork look good! 😅 Seriously awesome consist. The final full movie train will be amazing.
Thanks for your help with it!
Mmm sawtooth boxcar… Train looks great! Congrats on finishing the set!
Thank you!
Awsome build I love Emperor of the North. Would have been cool with some close ups as you explain the details of the consist.
This was a much quicker video as it was just rolling stock. I explained the details I thought were necessary - some photos with descriptions are on my Flickr page if you'd like to see those.
Awesome work, Glenn. The attention to detail is cool to see, but downright incredible to hear you describe. Move over brass, the real details can be found in… bricks!
Thank you so much!! Details always make the difference in modeling. So glad you like it.
Love the model set from Emperor of The North!
Glad to hear it!
Might need to go watch the movie now😂
Definitely!
Absolutely awesome!
Thank you!
Looks fantastic! Do you have any plans to put sound in any of your engines?
I definitely plan to, on a case-by-case basis.
Very impressive as always Glenn
Thank you!
Good job Glen!
Thanks!
The whole consist looks amazing! I’m glad to see it all come together!
Thanks! Me too! It's been too long for sure.
I can't belive it I just watched the movie 3 hours ago XD, I love it Glenn great job...and the movie is still a masterpiece 🔥
Thank you!
Elapsed time: 6.5 years. Give or take a year. Glad you finally got to it, and got it done. 🙂
Certainly took long enough didn't I?
awesome stuff dude
Thank you!
Is there a way to get instructions for 765? Or maybe make a video on how you go about building a locomotive?
@@thegamingrhino5864 thanks for the interest. I don’t distribute instructions for my current models publicly, and have no plans to do so in the future.
It’s a shame that nobody and I mean nobody at all puts tutorials of how they make their locomotives
No one is obligated to.
@GlennHolland Yeah, but it's a shame because sometimes some creators want to make their own locomotives Their favorite locomotives or their favorite locomotives from a movie
@@kadenrobinson7067 If that's the case, then they're certainly free to create their own designs. There are plenty of resources and people that would be helpful to that goal.
@@kadenrobinson7067yeah nah your argument there is just full of it. The amount of trial and error put into designing these things at this level are way too advanced for the average consumer. It’s a bespoke model and an incredible one at that. There are creators who do sell instructions of kits, or some ready to run sets, but people don’t buy them because for some reason this scale is hounded by people at their keyboards demanding things for free. Artists deserved to be compensated for their work, and certainly do not have to bow to the whims of people who want to copy their work. You are more than welcome to try free softwares, try for yourself to make what you want instead of waiting for instructions that will never come. You are owed nothing.
Love that you not only gifted the design, but helped fellow builders fine tune them. The relationships formed through the whole process from design to run is so amazing. In honor of the build, I’m going to head over to Pere Marquette State Park this week. Same name, no train. Just lots of hilly trails along the Mississippi.
👏👏👏that looks awesome Glenn
Thank you!
Beautiful locomotives! Great to see the Michigan icon join the fleet! And yes, although 1225 is famous for _something else_ (I thing which I do actually love), it's wonderful that 1225 continues to get recognition today, especially as the last of the Pere Marquette's steam. Something else to mention is that I absolutely love the consists shown off here. I bet the Steam Railroading Institute would run photo freights if they had the kind of cars shown here. Too bad they don't have too many of them...
Photo freights are always the most fun, I think. SRI has done some good events in the past for sure. Hoping to go on one of those someday.
Two absolute rippers, makes me so jealous. Haven’t run a train in nearly a year. Great work mate!
Thanks as always Sam!
Yeah, I need a Berk. 😁
Yes you do!
We love Glenn casually dropping a new locomotive like this😂. Well done!
Well, it's technically not my model! But I'm happy to share alongside Shane.
as always they are wonderfull

Awesome, Glenn. Now 1225 needs are her coaches from the Polar Express.
That would be up to Shane. I prefer the accurate appearance of 1225!

Great to see a new upload, thanks Glenn!
Are there instructions. If so, where can i find them. If not, is there any looking forward to instructions?
Thanks for the interest- I don’t make or sell instructions for any of my models, and have no plans to release any.

Definitely was a fun time!
763 looks so good pulling mix freight at speed. I could watch it run for hours. And 8220 looks great dragging hoppers.
We definitely had some nice trains on this layout!
Do Polar Express 1225
I’ve already modeled NKP 763, which is essentially a cousin to Pere Marquette 1225.
