On Flight radar the planes are flying under/south of Russia today. Your flight was almost over the north pole. These routes are similar on distance and time I guess. Do you know what the circumstances are to choose a certain route?

This is really poor food. The bento box loks like Chinese food to me, not Japanese, and the meat dish with virtually no veggies looked inedible. The breakfast ... a greasy egg in a bun. Yuk !! No salad for breakfast ? I have travelled the same journey with JAL, a completely different food world, though Tokyo to Sydney was better foodwise than Sydney to Tokyo.

Thank you for reviewing MAS Business class. I was thinking of flying Business next time I visit Japan and wondered how it would be... The last time I flew MAS Economy to Japan which was nice but I want a little more luxury next time.

At moment 6:07 we can see the famous "The Beach" planespotting site (on the right side of the short tower), near Kyeemagh Avenue. 9:51 Qantas catering forgive me, but this seems like pig washing. I can't identify almost anything in this food packaging.

Great trip report. If only you had got a window seat. The Japan Food Hall seems to be an ideal place to have your last Japanese meal before leaving the country.

KE's A321 Neo was beautiful and modern, love it. I flew this route in 2017 but on their A333.
