I have a question. I, thanks to your videos was able to create some forms for my church. I recently created a form with some fields that were "required". The form seemed to work well. But I noticed some of the users were not polulating the required fields but were able to save the form and close the file and did not get some type of notification that they did not fill out the the required fields. Is this how acrobat works? I would have expected some type of notification. Can you explain why this happens, I checked out some your videos but they did not address this.

It's very true that using the graph view in word sucks. I'd also do the same thing and take a screenshot of the graph and make it an image with alt-text. Where I'd divert though is if there's quite a bit of data in the graph, It would make for a really long alt-text. Graph data read out in alt-text by a screen reader is still pretty difficult to parse, as you'd have to remember all the values as you read through the alt-text and it's hard to make comparisons of data when it's in one big paragraph blob. What I recommend my clients to do is to provide a short alt-text that just briefly explains what the graph shows, and then where to find more information about the graph. e.g. "Alternate Media 2022 bar graph, see below for text description". Then, immediately below the graph, I'd provide a structured data table version, and if I'm feeling extra spicy, I'd also provide a summary list of the main data points or trends in the graph. This will help not only screen reader users understand what's in the graph, but providing a summary and table can also help people with lower data literacy, people who learn in different ways and can generally uplift the document/report overall making it easier to understand.

This was not clearly titled. It is not a tutorial on how to "combine or split pages in a PDF", it is a tutorial on how to combine multiple PDF's into one PDF, or split pages from one PDF into separate PDF's. The combining and splitting demonstrated is at the file level, not the page level. Apparently it is simply impossible to take two 8.5" x 5.5" pages in PDF format and combine them into a one 8.5" x 11" page PDF using Acrobat Pro.

How can I correct a letter that is wrongly recognized in the entire document. For example in Old German the letter "F" is recognized by Finreader 16 as "8"? (I have a problem with other letters depending on the font.) Thanks in advance!

Great video - I have the on-going issue with Acrobat rearranging the order of images when moving them UP the reading order, then end up behind other elements like background artifacts, or background color blocks... any suggestions?

Alt text is no longer carrying over to PDFs as of mid-August 2024. Adobe needs to create a fix.

I have a 32-page file. I want the first eleven pages to be one file, the next two pages to be another file, etcetera, with a total of six files of different lengths. I can't figure it out! Thanks.

If you follow this guide, you will lose all interactive elements (e.g. form fields, check boxes) in your PDF. A better way to resize your PDF would be to use Print Production - Preflight tool in Acrobat Pro. This way you will retain everything from the original PDF and avoid the quality loss caused by reprinting.
