E-Ride Pro SS 2.0 - Deep Woods Struggle Bus
I've posted a lot of videos of ripping on this bike in what I'd consider good terrain for it to excel. Here's a mashup of it doing that and then what it's not good at, as well running the battery dead deep in the woods. I'm interested in if it would be better with 18/21 wheels still. I'll be mounting a 21 next week and leaving the rear stock for a while.

Here's some footage of my third day out on the new E-Ride Pro SS 2.0 electric dirt bike. This is now the better tires on the stock wheels. Mitas MX-SM on the front and a Tusk EWire on the back. I don't care for the EWire so far, the compound is too firm and profile to low. I'll be trying something else ASAP.

Here's some longer format raw footage of my first day out on the new E-Ride Pro SS 2.0 electric dirt bike. The bike isn't really holding an A class rider back on this kind of smooth, fast trails. Rocky, rooted up, technical trails are not as much this bikes cup of tea I found out the next day. I fear the longevity of the bike won't be very good with hard enduro. I'll keep it out on these kinds ...

Just sharing some first impressions, talking about setup, and thinking about what needs to be done to make it the weapon it has the potential to be. I added Warp 9 direct mount riser, pegs, and removed the brake and kickstand sensors. Otherwise it's right out of the box. What a rip! Averaging 5-8mph faster than my 300...
Moab Porcupine Rim eMTB Trail Ride - October 2023

Little mash up of the porcupine rim trail down from the slickrock area to the river this fall. We started at the top with the full enchilada then dropped into the rim and cruised down and out to the river, pedaled back into town. I had 3% battery left on the 704w using trail mode at 60% assist pretty much the entire ride. 2023 Specialized Kenevo Expert.

Riding Polaris Timbersled snowbikes in the Washington mountains Sunday February 20th. Had a nice mix of Yamaha, KTM, Honda, and Husqvarna bikes out with the crew. All different timbersled kits from 2015 thru 2022 models, lots of good comparisons but overall the ARO and Riot kits all killed it and the old mountain horse SX hung tough. Could i ask you about your e ride? We just got one and on the third day of owning it the display screen and headlight quit working. Checked the wires and all seems to be in tact. Any thoughts?
funny, my screen also quit last week and the wires and hardness are all fine. Seems like it might be more quality of the components related. I'm emailing support.
Nice I wish I was up there! I miss the Pacific North west.. Yeah you running the New Tusk ground wire.? I found the same the rear compound is way to stiff/har for how skinny it is. i got a Kenda millvill 70 100 19 on my rear lol Knobs are not as big as its suposed to be a front tier but its a bit softer compound I Like that about it.
yeah I expected that from Tusk. I can't comment on the front but the rear is trash IMO. I've got a new one to try that's a random brand off eBay designed for the Surron called WIG Racing. Compound isn't much softer but it's 80/90x19. I've been off the little bike for a bit and riding gas. I need to setup the 21 front and get that mounted as well, dirtbike season in the NW is coming up fast.
Nice riding! RUGER
Rad, can you share the location of this epic trail? I respect if not, but if yes then I'll def go ride it on mine! Thank you-Mark.
Sorry mate - not this one... it's kinda got a locals only vibe already and might not be a legal ORV area. The trails around grey's harbor are similar to this if you are near Olympia.
Very Nice. How tall are you and how did you adjust the surron to your size?
Easy, warp 9 riser, and pegs w adjustable peg mount. I'm 6' tall.
Hello, I also bought an e Ride. And can not drive on the rear wheel because the brake interrupts the gas acceptance. Do you have a trick to turn it off?
Remove the brake sensors, kick stand sensor, and tip over sensor. They can all be unplugged. Many CZcams videos showing how.
Nice, I just heard about E-Ride Pros. which one is generally cheaper to buy Surrons or E-Ride Pros?
The surron is a bit cheaper to buy. But if you wanted to make it 72v and have similar power, resorting the suspension to a heavier weight, etc... It would cost far more. I think the eride is a better value therfore.
Could you show or type out a setup on the bike made for a place like LA? Gonna use this bike for commuting and stuff like that
GoPro oder DJI?
GoPro Hero 11Mini on Django Gripper Chin Mount
yo did you buy your bike from rev rides downtown Vancouver. I went in recently and the customer service was very awkward and very uncomfortable.
like if you love your family
Hopefully this isn’t a trail that folks on bicycles, pedestrians, or folks walking their dogs might be on! Looks pretty irresponsible to me.
It's a dirtbike and mtn bike trial. The risk is on coming traffic as it's not directional. That said, as the only car in the parking lot on a week day, low risk.
Moderate risk would probably be more accurate
Where is this trail?
Plain Washington
I just wanna see more of you ripping the trails on that bike! It's awesome to see someone who is actually a good rider riding one of these ultralight e-motos. A comparison would be cool also. Ride the same section of trail on a gas bike and the eride. See how the times and riding styles compare.
More to come! I tracked my times on some trails on Gaia. On the faster smooth stuff I was 7 to 9 mph faster on the eride. Technical and rocky.. Way slower.
@@cbc76am Holy! 8mph faster is no joke! I'm subbed, (not so) patiently waiting for more videos.
Amazing ❤
Bro you need Gaia GPS on your phone so you can keep track of the routes you take and also see ones of others. If you play around with the map layers its probably the best GPS. Works offline too. More people should be using it.
I have used Gaia for 8 years. And I'd never turn it on at that place. I don't ever want others finding that little gem.
Ultra bee is faster than eride pro on single track?
No idea. I'd think so, although not as nimble. Depending on how tight the trail is... I could see some that the E-ride would be quicker.
What kind of range did you get?
25 miles is no problem even while pushing it. Asking for more gets you into limp mode but still has another 5 or so like that.
@@cbc76am my typical ride is a 30 mile loop of similar terrain. I’m on the fence, I had a surron but stock there was no way it would get me back to the truck. I really am considering the eride pro SS.
Where was this trail?
Chiwawa from goose creek in Plain WA. Near Fish lake.
whats ur front suspensions settings
full stiff on comp and preload.
really good rider! nice trail!
Love these vids. Keep it up.
csf?
I am so feeling it brother!
We ran it empty that day. Had to push it up every hill and tow it out on the road. 25 miles, or two hours thereabout is your range. At 25 percent it starts giving less juice. At 20 it drops off more to eco. At 12-15 it can't go up 15 degree grade. At 8 it cut off and stopped. I could cycle the key and get another mile or so doing that for a while. Which, was annoying, but we got a lot more distance that was that I wasn't pushing it.
Great video and awesome riding! How many hours could you ride like this in the woods before the battery is empty approximately? Thx! 😊
I'm out there riding for 3 to 4 hours. I'm getting 25 miles of hard riding out of the battery before it goes limp mode, which can get you another 5 or so miles in eco, and then crawls for another mile or two.
@@cbc76amare you riding all 3-4 hours in sport mode?
My friend charles has one, i now have a job working 10 hrs a day at 18.75 to afford to get one. Motivation isn't there, but it'll be fun getting around on instead of worrying about my car blowing up. That's the motivation for the job, not the bike.
I know the feeling bro cnt wait just need to work for 5 mouths then i can get one 😂

I’m pretty sure that e ride sells this foam kit for the battery rattle
Where do you usually ride? I think I recognize this trail, I hit it with my surron last summer.
That's chiwawa river trail at fish lake, plain WA
@@cbc76am Oh sick, I actually haven't been there. I do alot of riding in Oregon with my Surron. Definitely have been considering an E-Ride Pro SS recently though, it seems to be alot more powerful especially in the mid range power band.
What brand and size tires did you go with ?
I've got the mitas mx-sm 70/100 x 19 in front, it's exceptional. The rear I installed the tusk ewire 80/90 x 19.. I'm not impressed. The aspect is too small (low) and the rubber too hard. It makes traction on loam and sand, but rocks, roots, etc it's terrible. Ultimately I think I will end up 18/21 but I'm trying to get the stock wheels to be useful. I also installed tubliss in front and a mousse in the rear. Lot of custom work to get that to work. Tubliss needed a 19 inch rear inner with a 21 inch beadlock to fit the rim. The mousse is a used 21 front plushie with a bunch of height shaved off to fit the small aspect tire. I'll post a video soon of that install.
Nice rip bro
you're a great rider!
Thanks man, still trying to push at 46 ;)
@@cbc76am thats amazing dude straight skill
Dang that looks fun
If you really wanna ride on rough stuff, I would recommend upgrading wheels and tires to 19/16 or 21/18 (I went with 21/18 as like you, got lots of rocks and stumps in Portland) but more importantly invest in EXT Ferro shocks. They are game changers, best fork I have ridden and I got lots of experience on dirtbikes and mountain bikes. OIne of the few if only shocks specifically made for E Motos.
Probably at some point. But for now I have 3 gas bikes to use still too. :)
Surrons are killing Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki and KTM's bottom line. A new era has arrived.
@@shockadellicklol never gonna happen,
@shockadellick never happening it just means more competition and maybe a new lineup
I agree it is already happening to some extent. My first dirt bike was going to be a Kawasaki or a Suzuki, but now I am buying one of these instead. These are just so accessible, they will only keep getting better. Although this is better than a similar priced stock Surron, Surron has the advantage of a growing dealership network.
Whats the weight limit on that bike?
I think like 250 would be max. But it's not spring for over 200.
Nice rip bro
Nice riding 🫡
Thanks ✌️
That looks like a blast. i rode on back of friends hodaka, in 1980. We were going as fast as you here. Back then the gas tank rear was almost vertical. We couldnt make a corner at that speed and hit a tree, my body squished against my friend and he wracked his juevos real bad. I can still see the pain in his eyes, he is mad at me to this day 44 years later...his name is Scott H. From Lake Arrowhead, Ca.....be careful bro.
Laggy
Hoping to make some trips that way This season..'24.. Any good location recommendations, I've never been that way. From Prosser, wa.
I'd certainly put Schreiber's Meadow @ Mt Baker on your list. It's a must visit. Beyond that, French Cabin, Lake Anne, Gallagher out of Salmon Le Sac are solid zones. Blewitt Pass has some really good high elevation play areas if the eastern slope gets the snow vs the main passes. Finally Smith brook near Steven's Pass is seemingly small but if your adventurous and strong is full of amazing and challenging terrain.
Thank you! The old burn area you are in here looks fun!@@cbc76am. The old burn area by tripod meadow is fun. We Hit that last season.
Scary music
So what is your gearing? I have 13/50. What would be better?
It's at 13/48... And hoesntly it's a touch tall, makes 1st a bit doggy. But that helps tame it on the trail a lot, making 2nd very universal. The motor is fully built MRE porting and 12:1 compression. It's also got a rekluse in it. So that would make it a bit different than a stock motor for gearing. I'll probably go 49 on the next rear.
@@cbc76am that’s for the input. I have an 03 CRF450 roller with an 88 CR500 engine in it. What a monster!!!! The gears I’m using is 13-50. I weight 160 so to me the thing wants to eat me. I get the better gears at 13-49. I’ll need to try it. Bike is the inhalator as it is but might be Ben be better shaving off a tooth! Thank you.
Looks fun. I would put some weights on the front fork though.
@Motowrench TV which Dal Soggio kit did you install in the rear shock?
The non PDS KTM bikes have the 50mm piston. So the RS50 is in this rear shock. The air forks I think are almost perfect without modification. A buddy of mine has the sphere cartridges in his 21 350xcf, they are better than the aer, but not really enough for me to drop the 1700 on them.
:20 I would have tipped over. Good save
What trail is this called? Gifford is one gigantic forest.
That's mostly the climb to Hamilton butte
Great footage. That's the best example I've seen. Do you think it could work well with Powered Paragliders?
that would be a bit questionable, the drone likes to stay above the target and might be hard to get the angles you would want. It would work and track you (the person it locks onto) and the GPS fob... with a 25m flight time in wind and 30+ mph speed it would work... I'd likely want the person with a phone to be on the ground to have it fly back to after the battery is exhausted.
Nice video! What year/model ktm are you running? Have you tried different counter shaft sprockets? What timbersled model is on the bike? I'm asking cause I have a 2006 ktm 525 Exc and I'm looking at a 2017 120 raw to install on my bike. Thanks
That was a 16.5 Factory Edition with an ARO. I ran a 06 525 my first year with a 15 SX kit. It worked perfectly fine... I have some other videos of me riding that on my channel. I'd recommend the aro over raw if you can spring it.
