My sympathy goes to the affect residents, but let truth be told. When I was in Nigeria I lived in Ejigbo Lagos. Then I used to take a long evening walk over the beautiful canal separating Ejigbo and Isolo, the houses on both sides of the canal were reasonable distance from the canal such that the canal can flow without hindrance. Fast forward one decade I visited Lagos and to Ejigbo and was shock to see the canal has disappeared, taken over by houses. Ejigbo canal blockage is just one example, canal blockage is common in Lagos. This should not be allowed to happen.
