This channel is mostly home video of my travels, my friends & family and lgbt+ events. There's a lot from back in the 1980s and '90s of Toronto and more specifically the east end neighbourhood where I lived. I'm putting my old footage on CZcams as a 'permanent' record. (I figure it'll be around for a while!) and to share glimpses of my life in bygone days with others .
Toronto Port Lands - Thursday, August 13, 1992. One Last Look at 052, The Commissioners Street Dock.
Some work video I shot during the final days of the Canadian Pacific Express & Transport Terminal #52 occupying the land at the NW corner of Commissioners Street and the Don Roadway in Toronto 1992. The entire dock location is now the extended Don River. The camera's audio was cutting out so I inserted a song by Creed Fisher called 'Life Of A Working Man'.

A short video passing the new Rubik's Cubes under construction near Adelaide Street and Parliament Street in the Spring of '96. My Dutch friend, Robert is giving the commentary on the new and unique stucture and it's architectural roots. I made this video in response to one I watched saying that the days are numbered for The Cube House. czcams.com/video/Y2dcrn9XRDs/video.htmlsi=nNGLQLbosPAb-gYk...
Toronto Beaches - May 24, 1999. May Long Weekend Fireworks Display
zhlédnutí 181Před 14 dny
Home video of the annual pyrotechnics show at Ashbridges Bay. It was a bygone time when the pre-fireworks activities were just as much a part of the night as the big show itself! We start out leaving my place and meeting Jim and his dog, Rover and Rob before going down to the beach. Jim and Rover didn't stay long at the beach as Rover, an Alberta farm dog, was freaked out by the crowds and noise.

One of the last videos I have left to post of when I lived on Queen Street East in Toronto. This one is from when my mom and her husband, Al came to visit in September of 1995. We start out leaving my place and going down to the beach before going to Kew Park to take in some of the 4th annual Mix 99.9 'Birthday Beach Fest'. A sample of some segments I produced for the Newcap News when I worked there in Lloydminster Alberta/Saskatchewan in the early 2010s. The pieces were pared down news stories taken from the Newcap archives. At the time, Newcap Broadcasting had around 70 radio stations across the country and only two TV stations, CKSA, a CBC affiliate and CITL, a CTV affiliate, both in Lloydminster. If you want t...

I was 9 days old when this was filmed 😂
It looks like the same shitty second world toilet of a city today as it did then. Fewer packies though
Look at all those beautiful white people not a stinky Indian in sight
Diversity imo separates Toronto from the rest
I love how that drilling sound everywhere was already going back then lol
Jesus the place is still under construction?
It's funny how the video quality from home movie cameras of that era make it look like it was shot in the 1970's
Brian i love the way you start the videos at your door. the fire station was always a landmark that i looked at thousands of times. hope you are doing well. . i miss the old coin-op juke boxes that used to be in the restaurants back then. my mom used to take me to the goof in the 60s when i was younger. hope fully run into you sometime if you are still flying around toronto. Later.
no way this is filmed in 1990 1960???
One of the T-shirt vendors was selling VAURNET FRANCE, the hottest T-shirt of 1990
Love it, Brian. Perfect choice of music.
How are half the comments here just racists lamenting how white Toronto used to be? the kids are all useless bigots today
3:27 Howie Mandel. 👏🏻
No vibe left in Toronto. Just corporate and woke. Small businesses were the norm and true individually existed.
City looks the same, just cleaner.
0:38 she is like a model. This was a like a beer commercial.
I think what’s most impressive is that the majority of the buildings I find most iconic about downtown Toronto and its financial district were already built here. Feels like for the most part the buildings that came up since don’t have as much character.
not as diverse, i bet everyone in this video is ok with being replaced
Whether they like it or not it's being foisted on them. All we can do is dig in our heels and resist this ethnic cleansing disguised as urban renewal.
Not a brown in site. Beautiful. Pretty clear things are getting worse. Not better. Evolution theory has been disproved
Theres a sign that said 1996 around 7:25

What camera did you use to shoot this? loved the video thank you

Did he win the car?
Its sad how Toronto lost its identity, it looks so different from the 90s
7:16 no way is that Rex Murphey, bottom left?!
Fuck i miss Toronto 30 plus years ago. It’s such a shit hole now, as soon as I hit Hamilton my heart sinks and it’s like you can feel the negativity and selfish vibes in your bones, by the time I get to the gardener I’m looking for my next u turn to get the fuck out of there. Vancouver has this messed up energy about it too now. Mtl is still basically mtl but that place has always been its own planet .
This was awesome to watch
A blast from the past
Cool video
Thank you Liberal and NDP voters for destroying this once great city.
Good times. Now the buses are filled with Indians 😂
This Toronto doesn't exist anymore, it was taken from us.
When Toronto wasn't utter garbage yet and Canadian culture still existed, without the constant rudeness and blaring horns every 2 seconds like its some part of an impoverished 3rd world country.
Cool video.
Construction and traffic. Toronto is still the same. lol. But honestly it's so cool too a world before smart phones. Now most people look into their phones like zombies. I miss those days when you weren't at home nobody could get a hold of you.
The good old days.
Spectacular video great job
Fantastic ...
I miss when This was Canada. Trudeau ruined the country. Thank you for this way back playback! I was a wee lad at this time.
compare this video to a video of toronto today and you'd 100% think you're in india.
when majority of people that lived in toronto were CANADIANS....how sad
Fast -forward to 2024 and the bus is scented like a tikka masala, full of fake visa "students" and everyone carrying illegal firearms. Thanks, Dougie! ( I always liked you better when you sold hash to my dad and his friends)
Real proof that half a dozen buildings were under construction since the 90s 😂
It was nice to see what Toronto was like before the Indians took over.
I was 3 years old when this came out. Toronto is no where near what it looks like today. It's been invaded by cults and entitled people.
4:40 lol!
No idea why this popped up in my feed today but I’m so happy it did. Thank you for posting this all those years ago so that it could eventually make its way to me and give me all the best memories of walking/driving around that city as a young boy with my dad before and after games at Maple Leaf Gardens. I still remember the first lesson my dad ever taught me about Toronto, he said - “If by some chance you’re ever hit by a car in the city, just walk it off if you can, because chances are you’re only gonna end up getting in a fight anyway for making whoever hit you late for work“ 😂😂 He always was one for the advice. I remember him also saying “If you’re just walking down the streets here don’t always be looking up because you’ll look like a tourist and will be treated like one” lol. Advice I still employ to this day. I still don’t get hit by cars so as not to inconvenience the other driver 😋
