so you are not even going to say what size or length or type of screw to use to attach to concrete pad? just grab 3 screws and go for it?
Hi there! This video is meant to be followed in conjunction with the instruction manual that comes with your kit. For specific requirements for the screws, please see the instructions on our website here: wearevita.com/products/bolt-down-bracket-system?_pos=1&_sid=504908a99&_ss=r
Wish you had a video on how to add the fence. I purchased my legacy arbor with the fence almost 5 years ago, and am just getting around to putting it up now. Hubby is outside trying to figure it out.
Oh! That’s how you add the screws to the side panels. Thanks!
It is not easy….
Do the posts need anchored in the ground?
Hello, do you have any ideas on how to build a green house cover for this during the winter ? I want to protect mine from the cold. Any ideas if you have done it ? I can’t find anything on CZcams specific to this kind of raised bed
Hi Cosorno, we don't have a specific recommendation on how to do this. I think you'll have to consider the fencing panels on the side, even if you closed off the top the sides are still open to the elements. That being said, the post caps do come off and you can insert 1/2" of post or metal rebar inside if you want to try and construct a cover that would work? Hope that helps in your decision! Best, Vita
But where do the spikes (rebar) go mentioned in the instructions?
Hello, You can remove the square post cap, insert the rebar down the post and into the ground, then place the cap back on top!
Is it okay to plant right away as shown or do we need to wait a few weeks or months?
Hi Erik! If you're starting from scratch with raw compostable materials you may need to top it up with about 15-18 inches of composted potting soil, you'll need about that much for any seedling to that you wish to plant so they can establish roots. If you're filling with soil and just adding compostable materials to the basket as you go you can plant right away.
@@vitahomeandgarden Thank you so much!!! I’m looking forward to getting started!!
Where I can get the materials for this
Hi Carl! Our pergolas are sold as prepackaged kits and are available on our website at wearevita.com/.ca We also sell through various vendors online, you can search the product code and see who has the kit available at any time. If you're in need of individual parts please call us anytime M-F 8a-5p EST at 1-800-282-9346 and we can help.
Where I can buy the materials in Florida
Hi Carl, I would look at any local hardware store/lumber supply in your area. Many customers will just take the instructions with them to the store and have an associate help find everything you need if that works
Very Helpful!
Beautiful video!
What a beautiful film! Where can I find that pergola with the shade cover at the end of the film?
Hi Kevin, that's our 12x12 Monterey Pergola and it can be found here! wearevita.com/products/12x12-monterey?_pos=1&_sid=45b09618c&_ss=r
I love this system. I have the keyhole 6x6 installed in my garden. My only concern is the “bowing out” aspect. I haven’t planted in it yet…and it’s already bowed. How do I fix that? And how do I prevent it from happening to my 3 other garden beds that I’ve yet to install?
Hi Mareeah, thanks for your comment. The best thing you can do to prevent bowing in any vinyl garden bed is to fill it evenly with soil. The warmth and pressure created from the soil will expand the bed evenly if it's filled close to the top.
How many bags of soil does this need ?
Hi Carolina, this garden bed has a soil capacity of 130 cu. ft. so approximately 4078 liters of soil is needed to fill it. You can also create your own soil using compostable materials, here is a link to how to create your soil from scratch: wearevita.com/pages/composting-101
This is exactly what I'm looking for - almost. Wish there was extra paneling and gate (sold separately) to close off spaces between two of them several feet apart. Anyone know of similar kit with optional extra pcs available?
When it will be available?
Thank you for your interest, Saleha. We anticipate sometime in November. Please check back here - or enter in your email address to be notified for when it's back in stock. wearevita.com/products/classic-8x12-keyhole-composting-garden?_pos=1&_sid=4e96de917&_ss=r
Buena noche para todo

Directions are in box 6 😉
How many yards of topsoil?
This garden requires about 5-6 cu yards to fill with soil.
@@vitahomeandgarden how many bags of soil is that
@@carolinaosorno3980 I think it depends on the size of your bag. I use a bag of soil from home depot (0.75 cubic feet = 0.02777778 cubic yard) to calculate. It will take 180 bags to fill 5 cubic yards. Hope it helps.
Start with the gate first! We started with the back area and when we got to the gate it could only be positioned to open inward. This necessitated us to take everything down and start again or switch the hardware. UGH
Very very complicated. Took my contractors months to finally put this together I don’t not recommend if u are doing it without and professional help. Very complicated job with a lot stuff to do. Do not expect to finish it in a few days

great video!
Not as easy as you say,.. got the 6x6 for my birthday and since I have had surgery its making it difficult. The back pieces do NOT fit unless I take a table saw to one of the 54s to put the notch on the other side. Design flaw or defective? No idea, as your 800# isn't open on the weekend.
Hi there, I'm sorry for the difficulty. Can you send an email to: hello@wearevita.com with your phone number and we'll work this through for you? Or give the 800# a call today after 8AM so we can assist?
Waiting on my shipment to arrive. I decided on this considering the high cost of lumber this year. I can’t wait to add even more space to plant my garden this year.
Thank you 💓

That makes me happy! They work very well. Nice to hear from you.
Thank U bro Ede..
Hi Bro Ede.. The gardens u made for us r very useful and brought lot of crops... Thank u.
That is awesome - so glad they are working well for you. Hope to come back soon!
Enjoyed the Rwanda video
we just bought two of these and I am wondering how do you keep the box in the middle from filling up with dirt when you fill the garden? Thanks.
Often people use a few pieces of cardboard from the box to use as a temporary barrier. Then remove them once it has been filled. The soil usually retains itself and not much fills in the basket. Having some soil on the bottom is good too as it allows other microorganisms to mix with the compost you put in.
Hope this helps!
Thanks...but mine is the Model VT17107....twice as tall I think. I specifically need guidance on the screwing in of the panels-to-the-posts part. How do I place the posts? How do I screw in the panels?
Hi Jeff - the VT17107 is a 6x6 size - but has the same post connection features. It's a simple tongue/groove system that connects the posts to the boards. No screws required.
Jeff - have a look at this video specifically for the garden you have purchased: czcams.com/video/WaAboLQ-7vc/video.html
@@vitahomeandgarden My model # is stamped on the instructions....and I did receive 90+ screws and all posts had pre-drilled holes in them...but the instructions for inserting the screws were very poor, IMO. We figured it out. I also Chatted with Silas and that helped a bit. But no where online did I see a video of assembling it using screws.
@@1212Maps Glad you sorted it out Jeff. Sorry for the trouble.
@@vitahomeandgarden Also....do you have better, more detailed instructions re assembling the compost section? That part has given us some problems too. Thanks.
Is there stakes holding it to the ground? I'm in Kansas the wind here is windy. I seen this at Costco's I haven't opened the box yet but was wondering In the video I didn't see a stake to secure it to the ground
Hi Shawn, they don't come with stakes, and for the most part once the garden is filled up with soil, I would have a hard time seeing it get blown away. That being said, Kansas can get crazy with the wind. If you pull off the post cap, you'll see a hollow channel in the center, and you could install some ground stakes / pound in some rebar if you still have concerns.
@@eddiejdejong8169 I found some but it had a lip on it so I won't be able to put it on and the caps. So I just bent it over the top. Will see how it goes have had some crazy wind but not the craziest it's stood up so far.
Of course mine looks nothing like this and will take an entire day to unbox, another day to sort, and then another to figure how to put together. And I bought three of them. I'll be ready in 2021.
Dieter H. Hi there, thank you for commenting. Ours literally slide together in minutes - and if you have any issues please call us and we will walk you through anything!
Yes, its very fast and easy to build.
Dieter how your experience even with your raised beds? I just put mine together today.
@@rosalynnecole23 Fantastic! The last three seasons have been great. We used standard top soil, organic soil bags, our own compost, and prior years’ flower soil from planters out front. Cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, zuchinni, green beans, marigolds(as defense against moths), pumpkinette thingys. Each year has gotten better as we learned. We moved from a desert state Midwest so there was a learning curve. Thanks! God Bless!
Do these ship to Canada? :)
They sure do!
Eddie DeJong Thank you, Eddie! :)
How would you level this raised garden if the place you want to put it is sloped? I don't want to dig down on the high side, i want to raise up the low side,
Thanks for your question, David. I would probably build up a level area with retainer wall bricks (or wood), and limestone screenings / gravel and then install the garden on that. I'd also suggest that you add some worms to the garden since they now won't naturally be able to come into the garden.
