Vertical Soldering Tricks
zhlédnutí 111Před měsícem
Listen I've seen a lot of solder joints in the vertical and nothing but straight dog shit. I've done a few shitty ones and here are tricks you should watch for. 1. as your flux becomes ready and hot wipe it before you solder. 2. focus your heat to the top. this had water in the other side hence why it took a little longer.

    They are not Philips screws, they ar JIS screws, similar to look at but a Philips screwdriver will damage them, use a JIS screwdriver. Whenever you drain an oil pump pack it with vaseline. It will prime it creating the suction to first draw up oil.

    Plumbing is far from easy, now does it become more familiar for us along the way? Why yes of course! I always like to remind myself how impressive and important it is on communication that a good journeymen shows with others. It’s probably one of THE hardest things to master because quite frankly a lot of old heads are stubborn as all hell and there is a huge gatekeeping mentality that needs and hopefully goes soon! Good foreman and journeymen admit their mistakes or concerns, doesn’t matter if it electric, carpentry, plumbing etc). One misspoke can set plans back days weeks or even months. We’re all there to do a job, have fun and communicate with each other.

I have always been fascinated with plumbing. I hate math. I failed math in high school had to retake it and college got a D.. I've never liked math. So the math side of plumbing is really turning me off any suggestions about getting through the school. I have no problem with showing up on time and getting work done as a first responder time is critical. it's just school is more difficult for me than other people. Good info. I just retired at the early age of 56 and looking to start a new career as a plumber. I still consider myself a youngster with some zip remaining in me, plus I've always had an interest in the plumbing trade. I definitely need to brush up on my math though, as for mechanical aptitude I'll be fine since my previous years were surrounded by trades tools, rigging, welding, cranes, power lift devices. etc etc. Problem is demand right now is slow but I'm hoping something will materialize soon.

    Would you be willing to do an example of an isometric drawing for a plumbing plan? I have to do this in my first term of schooling in ontario and confused on how to begin,

    I’ve gone through the process of applying for an apprenticeship through the union. Waiting on a call today to see if I get a second interview. Honestly terrified lol I worry about the remaining time I’ll have left for myself after work and school and stuff. Obviously the pay off is well worth it. I just worry a lot

    Hows your body feel doing plumbing jobs? Im interested in the trade but heard horror stories how it broke peoples backs.

    • @JoonRhee
      @JoonRhee Před 4 měsíci

      I'll be straight up. My dad always kept in shape and that kind of inspired me to stay in shape most of my life. Do you need to be in shape for this job? I recommend it. Are there proper ways to do things? Yes, always. Most of the injuries that the old timers talk about are preventative. I never let any old guy in the trade. Tell me how to use my body because I knew it was best. Is it harder on the body? Sure, it will take a toll on you. Sure, but it's manageable and it won't take you out of the game. But if you don't take care of your body now, it's for sure going to ruin your body even more. That's really all I can say. Good question, thanks for asking
