I saw this lady say that if you thread your needle the direction it comes off the spool it tangles less. This has worked for me. So like if you put the thread on a sewing machine, the thread comes off the spool and goes thru the needle. You need to thread your needle the same direction as the thread is manufactured with a twist and is designed to pull through in a specific direction.

Real English paper piecing leaves the paper in. I’m not sure why people today are taking the paper out. It actually keeps the material much smoother and it doesn’t lose its texture. In England, that’s the way they do it, and in fact, some of the older ladies would use their old love letters as paper hexagon pieces.

I told my mom about your quilt, she made me one when I was little and my step mom threw it away. And now mom can't make me another one due to Parkinson's. So I'm going to try by watching you. 😊

The most difficult and frustrating time for me has been recovery. It is exhausting being sick, going through treatment, and recovery. Recovery takes so long and the pain, exhaustion, and mental crap is no joke. Im glad you were able to find help

Good for you girl! You made it! You survived and were strong enough to do so on your own. I went through six months of radiation and chemo and was either hospitalized or my mom was with me and I'm damn near close to 50. 🎉 I'm glad I chose to watch your older videos

I put my fabric on top of very fine sandpaper and trace what I want to embroider with a iron off blue felt fine tip marker for fabrics or a frixion pen too at times! I don't use interfacing but I should do that too. ha ha. So far the label is still on the quilt and not bunched up, A miracle I suppose....

Pretty! When you sewed your border did you then trim the hexi portions so it wouldn't make the border lumpy or did you just leave it? Tempted to do the same!

What kind of paper must use for these hexies, please

Natural beeswax works...personally I wouldn't use a random candle...I thnk you'll find a little block of beeswax in a craft store for very little outlay and it lasts every long time....I dont use wax for joining the hexies, but I do for quilting...your quilt will be lovely...

I use a bees wax bar and it makes it so much easier

What about a bigger block and you need interfacing on the back of your fabric sweetheart. One it’s washed it will bunch up. It looks good.

Love the last homely house 😊. The wax really does help, I used a candle the first time because that’s all I had on hand, I have the wax now but sometimes still use the candle lol

I have used bees wax and sew fine thread gloss. Been happy with both.

You’ve been fun to watch and I love your progress. I do a lot of hand work and been doing hexies for a few years. I’ve used a few different bees wax products and it helps. I’ve bought some some on Etsy also. I’ve hear it called thread conditioner. Keep up the videos!
