A 20km biking route taking cyclists along the old coach road that used to run between Ohakune and Raurimu Spiral on the Central Volcanic Plateau before the North Island main trunk railway was completed in 1908. Riders get good closeup views of the old viaducts , abandoned when the line was straightened in the eighties.

A video I made of a recent vintage steam train excursion of several 100km from Wellington to Woodville through the Manawatu Gorge, New Zealand. Lots of steam and noise and landscape and colour and hopefully interesting commentary. It's about 12 minutes. If you enjoy steam trains you'll enjoy this.
