It warms my heart seeing so many familiar bonsai artist that insured me throughout the years in one video.

I'm familiar with restrictive pruning of the stems and foliage... but I've yet to develop a knack for root pruning. I experimented with some American cedar and various spruce... but I can't seem to prune the roots correctly. I've been told the best way is not to prune, but to self retrain by twining the roots or binding them with wire. Does anyone else have experience with these methods?

I love Albufeira and the Algarve. We have travelled from one end to the other, from Tavira on the border with Spain (and across to Gibraltar), all the way to the lighthouse at Cape Saint Vincent in the West to watch the sun setting. And all stops in between: Alvor, Sagres, Silves, Quartiera, Armacao de Pera, Vilamoura…
