A fox has been eating my corn [on the allotment]. Noticed a trampled corn and nibbled at end, also saw the culprit last night. So I picked all the cobs even though they're not quite ripe. Will be eating them later. Thanks for posting. I've subscribed.

Fully agree with every tip you gave esp about growing something which you will actually like and use! And yeah it is definitely overwhelming at first and the urge to just go and plant everything is so great...a little bit of planning beforehand helps hugely! Fantastic advice

Just came across this video while looking for some inspiration, have to say it was very informative. Its nice when people explain things whilst going along for all of us who are amateurs here! I live in the North West and have a decent sized garden which gets amazing sunshine during the summer. I always try growing during the summer but have never done anything during autumn and winter so really could do with some info as to what would grow best. Bear in mind we get a lot of rain here in manchester😂 . Any ideas would be great, oh and lastly im loving the sunshine youre getting in this video❤❤❤

I am an absolute beginner, live on the North East coast with a North facing garden but I am determined to grow what I can in my own garden and around my home boundaries. You are an inspiration. Thank you for uploading. I have subscribed. I will enjoy looking back at your videos and get cracking on my own plot. I have some light, a raised bed to use and lots of clay soil to break up to use in the borders. Have a lovely weekend.

Top harvest

Love the mini corn, mine has done really well this year and is still going. If you do let them run over and develop kernels you can dry these and use them for popcorn which is great and fresh.

Your plot and garden look great. My courgettes are growing like crazy too. We always grow the mini corn as the first two years we grew the large ones and they got eaten by deer, luckily nothing has got these small ones each year.

do you have video for winter setup? and especially what to when water frozen with cold.

Hi. I see your rhubarb is still flourishing like mine. Have you stopped picking it or do you keep on picking while it is still growing?

My French beans have been growing like crazy this year And my runner beans are only just starting do something.

I wish my corn was as happy as that, mine are stunted and pale, I think I will try feeding them with blood fish and bonemeal and see if that helps but I think it’s getting a bit late now for anything

That odd little pepper plant with the large pepper on it is just trying its best to focus on the fruit but if you over winter that plant on a window sill it'll be a great performer next summer.

I never get round to growing broccoli because I think it’s such a big plant, but actually in reality it’s not massive so I think next year broccoli is going to be on my growing plan in order to try and have some more brassica greens coming through the summer

Thanks for the tips. It's always useful. The runner beans have benefitted from Olla pot watering...plenty on the internet...Also I save the strongest side shoots from the tomatoes, repot and they are growing. Second batch of toms? Mixing marigold flowers into the chicken food. The yokes are bright yellow! Started canning. Everything I dont eat 'today' gets canned. Plenty for the winter. Chooks are laying well. Taking loads of eggs to the local church kitchen. August is my favourite month. So productive.

Thanks for the tips. I have a tiny new apple tree which has all of 2 apples this year, bless it! I think they are ready to come off now. I've also tried broccoli this year which has grown well but I didn't eat all of it in time and some flowered. And I had a bumper crop of lettuce some of which bolted which is quite surprising to see for the first time! I need to keep on top of it more. Keep up the videos, it's really interesting to see how yours are getting on.

I am considering of keeping chickens for eggs as well but I don't know what the Law say about that I don't want to buy them and after I'm having to send them away because of complaints from neighbours.

We decided to get an allotment in Bath for the first time ever and happened to have this horrid weather. It is, however, doing extremely well and we harvested a lot so I can't wait to see how it does in a normal year! Thanks for the video very interesting
