Living a more self sufficient life by gardening, canning, hunting etc. Also enjoying growing giant pumpkins and other rare fruits and vegetables!! Come along for the adventures with us as we learn new things and hopefully teach you some stuff along the way! All of this for now will be done on 1 acre of property, who says you need a ton of land to live a self sufficient life for you and your family?? I’m also a disabled veteran of OIF and this lifestyle offers me a way to deal with the anxiety and things associated with PTSD as well as getting my mind off the physical pain from old injuries!!

You came up with a winner, I love Rhubarb but don't know really how to use it. I noticed that when you cut the rhubarb you were looking at the end and putting it in 3 piles, why did you do that? What were you looking for. It looked awesome and I think you need to add that to your canning jams and jellies...I could see one of those fancy strawberry pies and use that Watermelon Strawberry jam as a glace. Oh man I think you got something. Thank you Sharing this.

I was looking for the parts that were as a little more tender then the rest and piled them up accordingly, if I had a over abundance of it I would have used just the most tender pieces and discarded the rest but we ended up using just about all of it😊😊!! I wonder what watermelon strawberry rhubarb jelly would taste like?? Now I want to find out!!

@@jesusisGod1434 they can do some pretty cool things, if it gets to where I see it separate from the vine I’ll make a hammock for it
Thanks for the inspiration. I already had a 3 shelf rack. I put my orchids on the middle and lower shelf. Did the lights like you did and made a plastic enclosure with a shower liner I cut. It works great, Humidity at 70%. The only thing I did was put a blackout cloth around it because the lights are so bright and it is in my den. Thanks for the video.

It’s the laying it up for long periods without using it is why you had to “flash it” or excite it as they call it in the industrial world. Large industrial generators are often flashed with a battery but that is probably best left to professionals.
@@speckulator7516 that makes sense but I do start it at least once every 2-3 months at the time, so after this I started firing it up once a month and haven’t had any issues since.
@@heavenlyhillshomestead9465 when you periodically run it, put some load on it. Plug in a blow dryer or heat gun or a good side shop fan something like that and let it run a little bit. You want it to be producing electricity for it to help the generator end.

The one more thing I noticed is that you didn’t have the trigger depressed while you were spinning the drill in reverse. You may have had it locked in but if not you should press it.

@@lilfairycupcake they’re very very high energy but it can be put to good use and not have any trouble with them inside. She does awesome when she not being worked or played with but it took a lot of training and figuring out what she wanted for things to keep her occupied but it can be done and out of all the dogs we’ve had I will never own anything else now.

@@wnt1999 yes fill them all and keep humidity around 60%, there is also a hole in the side on the bottom tray that you can use to fill with water after the top and bottom is filled with eggs

Sorry to hear it's been a rough year. I believe there are many across the country that could relate, especially this year, it seems. I've also not had the best of years. However, we keep pressing on. Your message about dropping everything and taking care of family is so important and right on point.
