What I've been doing is going to the creek and getting a handful of minnows or fry and feeding them to my cichlids. So far they are healthier than ever but I am worried about what you said about the disease part.

I have clown loaches with peacocks and haps and I feed them their own sinking bottom feeder tablets also feeding them in the morning before I turn on the light and at night after I turn the lights off helps too I’ve found my other fish don’t go after the bottom feeder tabs but do go wild over algae tabs

I’m trying to grow algae in my tank as I have snails and I don’t want them to die I keep leaving the light on

I have 1 on my 90 gallon. Had on there for many years. cant remember how long its been sense I cleaned it. Well over a year well.. And my water parameters are perfect my tank is full cycle. All levels are perfect I don't test my water but I know my nitrates and nitrites are at zero or what ever perfect is lol. I don't vacuum my tank , nothing.

I just killed 14 fish... I was always using my alkaline/purified water machine to use purified water in my tanks. I read online that purified water isn't a good idea. So I started using tap water when I bought my new tanks. I let's them cycle and when it was ready, I added fish. Emerald Eye Rasboras in one tank and Ember Tetras/Bolivian Rams in another tank. Set them up a couple weeks apart.... I have always done 50% water changes (just like to do it) and this one time my fish acted differently. All the 6 tetras died and my rams almost died too. Somehow they lived. I thought I did something wrong. That was last week... So yesterday, it's time for the next tank. This time I double checked everything I did. Water temp was good and 50% removed and added. This time, 8 Rasboras died. I was thinking... What did I do differently... Tap water! Checked and the tank ammonia was high! 1ppm. Checked the tap and 1ppm. Checked purified water and it was 0. I was so mad! Just ordered more fish and it was a lesson for me for sure.
