I am anti Olympics, but at the same time think its good for getting more people into the sport. I think the judging should have 1 judge for each part of a trick. 1 judge for height, 1 for grab, 1 for spin, 1 for jib? Each of those judges should judge only 1 part of the trick and give a score. Then those scores get added together. That way a really steezy really high switch back 180 method (high score for steezy, high score for switch, low score for 180, high score for method) could compete with a sloppy cab nine. idk.

There just needs to be more money injected into rail jams and other small events that lean heavily on creativity. The Olympics, X, and even natural selection at this point have a tough time balancing objective things with style.

I saved most of my boards from my teens. My very first one was a Vision and I did not save it and it was so common and crappy that I dont really care to find one, they are always used for way too much $. I did have a Peter Line “Lady In Heels" deck that I gave to a friend that I really wish I had kept. It rode like absolute crap, but would have been a great wall hanger. I would like to find a rossignol corn cob board. Those always make me laugh. Also there was a k2? that had a puma or some kind of cat with eyes that lit up. The board had a "chatter dampening system" that converted kinetic energy into power to turn on the led cat eyes. lol total gimmick.

I understand how important graphics are as a selling point. Honestly for me im more about the shapes and tech but more shape than anything. I feel like signature boards should be exactly what a pro rides, from graphic shape, to width. Everything that the pro has. say he or she rides a 155 that board should only come in as a 155 and the exact tech. A pro model to me would be where you would get different sizes. Like i said before im shape its been a long time since i bought a board for the graphics or for the collectors aspect. If you put say a spring break powder glider and a kazu kokubo pro model in front of me i would pick the glider. Just for the shape and simple graphic. One thing i had a hard time with making boards (for a company that ran out of smoke) was he would take his lowest price board throw a new graphic on it and raise the price 200 bones. Same tech and shape just a new graphic and the consumers would eat it up. So at the end of the day as a business i would say graphic are important. One board I would absolutely buy for the graphic if i could get my hands on one is the Ride reaper wolf warpig.

Cork is whats up! When I was a kid my mom was trying to get me into cross country skiing and bought me a wax kit with a big cork. I kept that cork and use it every time I wax. Disco foot sucks. I use a hand impact driver, but I just use it manually like a screw driver. Its really nice because its bigger and you can get a great grip and really torque em down! also heel cup adjustment is real important. I make sure my boot is centered on the board with equal drag and then I angle the heel cup/highback a little bit.
