Imagine going to a con that is dedicated to one author/ book series, and wearing all the books! I'm going to a Discworld con in August, but that might be too many books. I'd need 41 pockets!

What about a list of pieces that are needed for the dress and approximate ratios not a pattern per se a list of pieces that are needed.

I'm hard of hearing but can hear a little and I really enjoy how you spell the words the way you pronounce them and not what is directly being "said". It always bugs me when I miss out on tone-jokes because folks don't include things like sarcastic ways of pronouncing things.

Okay but what I really want to know is about the comfy white hoodie you’re wearing with the purple floral trim. Have we seen you make that and I have forgotten or (gasp!) missed it?

In high schoiol I wore my utility vest that had pockets with all the essentials so I didn't need to carry a purse (cause doing so while taking shop classes was a recipe for disaster), now for work I have cargo pants with a particular loadout in the pocketses. They weigh about ten pounds. I also have gardening cargo pants with a diferent loadout but it wasn't comfortable to carry everything (they're a larger size so the pocketses are lower and I wind up bruising my knees with the stuff in the pockets banging around when I stomp on shovels and stuff) so I made an Apron Of Pockets to carry most of the other stuff I need while gardening (I don't garden at home and only store the big tools at my garden so I have to carry my stuff back and forth with me). A warning to everyone who wants to make a skirt (or pair of pants) that carries a lot of heavy stuff, be aware of your waistband and the load it can bear before digging into your hips or (in my case anyways) sliding down over your hips. I need like two inches negative ease with my cargo pants or they slide off!!!

That skirt would be really good for groceries you could probably a whole cart in there.

A corset might be able to help support the weight of the books

I would love to seee a video of you going into a library and using it to put all the books you find and seeing the librarians face. That would be so entertaining. Or a book fair

OK I haven't watched the whole video at the time I comment, it's currently around 10:00 in the video, and I was thinking of maybe having straps with button that would secure the book inside of the pockets, that way the pocket can be loose enough so you don't struggle with putting the books in and they can also not sag down because of the weight of the books We shall see what will happen next. You got me very excited that I need to leave a comment down mid way thru the video xD EDIT: Ok final product is wayyy cuter than I thought, definitely don't need the straps + buttons for each pockets. Haha what was I even thinking, that would look way too busy. The wide waist band seems to take all of the weights and the books look pretty secure in there. Good job! I love it <3

Random thoughts: paperbacks. Kept rewinding to try to read the titles of the books. Fabric looks like wood laminate. I was afraid to use the words laminate and fabric in proximity ...might give you ideas...Its a terrific skirt even without the books.

So I clicked on this video because I enjoy watching people make neat skirts and I love books...and then I noticed the absolutely gorgeous purple dress you're wearing, and my ADHD brain derailed. Did I just pause your video to spend 30 minutes trying to trawl the interwebs to find the dress you're wearing? Yes. Was I successful? No. On the off chance you actually see this comment, would you mind letting me know if it was a recent enough purchase to possibly still be available or if you made it or have had it for years and I should give up the search? 😅 And now I can restart your video with better focus. 😊

Can there ever be too many pockets? I think not. This is like the skirt version of construction-pants! I can see how it would be great for things other than books too.

I guess I just come across very forward.. but funny enough even though I don't so, and I only really have your channel for embroidery stuff, and the fact that I don't see any real purpose for this outside of some very specific people, I'm still very entertained watching this video! And I'm starting to have fun reading through other people's ideas for this very unique creation!) I just can't stop thinking about what a purpose for this would be if you don't work in a bookstore or library, and even working in the library I can't see a real purpose for it unless you could just dictate what you were going to need

OK.. About the book pockets. I have ROLLS of elastic (bought during covid from my local equivalent of Remainders.) Maybe a hidden line of elastic a little BELOW the pocket top to hold the books in place? I mean, you will probably never need to make another one... I shared this one to a librarian/sewist friend.

This skirt reminded me of the book "The librarian of Auschwitz", and it's main character that transported books hidden in her skirt. Loved this project! 🎉❤

As someone who gets inspired by nature. I am forever picking leaves for their shape and colour or sticks or cool rocks. This skirt is perfect. I swear charlie can read minds sometimes. When she invented purse pockets, i was/ have been thinking of ways to put them into everything including making not a skirt but a pinafore dress/apron thingy covered in pockets and now the genius that she is has done it a skirt with what? At least 20+ pockets. God i love this woman.
