Grout lines don’t all line up, had to line up the ones in line of sight, the lines below were 1/8 to 3/16 off.

Just finished install. My main comment is it makes no sense to attach the backing wood pieces with screws. First, its not likely there will be studs at every screw point shown. I opted to use "Loctite All-Purpose Power Grab" for the "wood-to-drywall" adhesive, and then on the side of the wood facing the shower surround I used "Loctite Power Grab Tub Surround." The other reason this is a better method than screws is that the Loctite wood grabs instantly (won't fall off wall) but allows up to 30 minutes working time, which means if the wood is positioned slightly incorrectly, it can easily be slid a bit either way to conform perfectly to the shower panels. The only place i recommend using actual wood screws is on the vertical pieces (the 1x3) which the jambs are screwed into. Those have to be anchored as firmly as possible because there is load and tension on those on each side, so i recommend making sure you have wood behind the drywall on each side. I also agree with the other comment that the music to this video is repetitive and irritating and grating for some reason I'm not sure why. My base was 1/4" out of level and I was still able to get an excellent installation. I would say don't be more than 1/4" out of level that's about the "maxx" variance it can handle. I'm impressed with the product so far and happy with my purchase.

This is the worse system . Comes with no directions.. you have to search them online.. mine is not even on their site. They are closed on weekends so no support there. Also, they sell them all over canada but the help desk has eastern hours... really really sucks, having ro shut off the water and wait for their hours of operation. Too cheap to put the directions in the box. Also... my two side panels .. are all rippled feom the factory.. i wish i never purchased this product.

What a horrible video. Take off this terrible music and actually go through the whole installation with pointers and detail. Fire your entire marketing department.

You said no wet setting I assume that's on all of your shower units. You keep saying that and it shows a bathtub unit in the video when you say that. Please be more clearer with your information. I just bought a 3460 four piece shower unit. I am not going to put any cement under the pan according to this video it says no wet setting on your units .

Very poor directions. We can’t figure out how to place caps over the glider covers.

First time seeing this this would be exactly what I need for our bath. Buy a shower pan and then do the shower walls in this. I hate tile I like the look but to much maintenance and it's two easy for something to go wrong and water can get behind tile but not this stuff that's why it would be perfect for what we need.

At 1113 I assume the outside of door is on camera side.

1030 to 1050 isn't very clear. I assume they put hole in door over pin of left roller and inserted piece that she had removed and set aside and at 1050 was repeating fir right side hole.

At 928 she's putting plastic on bottom ? of door. I assume the mounting holes are on the right end, top?

At 829 I assume that she centred that piece to the mark on the bottom rail. Is that silicone the only adhesion of te bottom rail to the base?

Lol. When she measures the rails I assume that's the length she cuts them.

She cut bottom rail 3/8 shorter than the opening. When she put rail down on right side to put the siliconed piece over it , to me she had a 3/8 gap. So no gap on the left side?

Use gloves or you will be sporting some serious fiberglass splinters. Our holes were not drilled correctly making the clips unusable. Shimming is essential because some of the panels are slightly bowed. So even with leveled studs, the panel might require shimming. Very frustrated with this product. We rigged it all in the end. Would have been appreciated if the had clips or spacers or whatever you want to call it for bases with a different height of lip. FYI we installed shower walls over a tub all the way to the ceiling.

You didn't show how to put the covers on the shower door rollers. Ugh...need to remove them, but don't know how!

We had to reorder the large wall panel due to the first one being warped, off by almost an inch. They sent a second one, and ITS WARPED, but by only 1/2”. Ok we’ll use it…..but… trying to line up clips along the edge, they’re off, and 2 of the clips have a lot of play, and one set of holes is so close to the edge, you can’t even get the clip into them ! Whaaaat ? I’m thinking the rest of you are right, and this is some sloppy manufacturing 😡. The hub is a good problem solver, but still pretty frustrated. Might call Home Depot and recommend they stop selling this product. Not impressed, Canada, with your dictator, or your product …signed, “your unhappy neighbor in Idaho” 🤨

Great shower doors! ....But things I learnt the hard way when installing these specific doors in "VIDEO" on Maax model 136271. Make sure you buy the right size door that fits your opening after the ceramic or finished wall is completed. This is a double Door Design so "Make Sure' you know which door is going to be the inside door which is determined by where the shower head is (shower head in my case) was on the right therefore inside door is on the right. Keep mind that these doors overlap in the middle and you want to ensure the water deflects away from the outside door. Therefore (inside door overlaps the outside) Wall jam screws not long enough .Keep in mind that you must compensate for Wall board and ceramic thickness to penitrate deep enough. I bought 2" or 8x2 stainless screws and they worked perfect (Rona has them) and if you are going through porcelain tile make sure you use 1/4" Dimond hole type drill bits ( I also bought mine at Rona ) They were in the flooring area not the Hardware. If you follow the instructions always make sure you have and follow the correct orientation on instruction. The Maax company recommend that the shower base is 1 7/8 depth min. This is illustrated on page 6 of the manual. Mine is lower not within the recommended 1 7/8" but works fine as I have very good drainage and I don't allow the water to pool up at my feet. This Maax unit also comes with an outside Threshhold for the base which helps keep the water from escaping through the doors which is a feature I liked. The bottom bump-stops are a key element insuring the job goes well. They are opposite on the base you need to study this very cafefully..The video shows my similar orientation and the manual that come with the unit has 2 different .. The video is good and the music is weird. It took me several hours to complete this task. I had to go through all the learning curves finishing this job and Im very confident I could do it faster next time

We are in the process of installing now, most of the holes were miss drilled, we spent all day taking it in and out fighting it and each other! The 1st back panel we got was cracked, it took weeks to get a replacement. Its been exasperating!

The weight of the panels are too heavy for one person to install, so you will need two able bodies on the install which adds more costs. I purchased the Utile by MAAX shower surround recently and paid to have it delivered to my project because it's too big to fit in a truck without breaking or damaging. When it arrived, there was hardware missing and getting replacement parts ordered is a nightmare. Also, the pre-drilled holes on the back panel to accommodate the "X" clips are drilled incorrectly and impossible to redrill onsite and get holes to line up with side panels. Online customer service sent me a "template" on my iPhone to use for new hole location, what a joke. Basically, I've spent $1,800 on the product, $500 on labor and help to figure out the onsite problems and i'm not even close to getting the project finished. There are too many other options for a shower surround if you want to drop approx $2,500. I could have spent half of this cost and job would be finished a week ago. The customer service in Canada have no intention of helping, they just ask you to send them more information online and they will get back to you in 2 days. It's been two weeks already and my client is not impressed. Oh!, and to add insult to injury, they asked if I'd pay for shipping to return the incorrectly manufactured panels that weight 200lbs.

If you know you have studs behind the wall. Go get longer screws. If you want your door to open from the right side of the wall which is what makes more sense (closer to the shower handle) USE THE OTHER SET of rubber L shape setters and basically do that whole step backwards

How do measure if there is a shower bench that has a small slope for drainage?

Very easy door to install. Only thing I’d change is supplying longer screws. The screws provided were only 1 1/4” long. In my situation I had to go thru 1/2” shower wall then another 1/2” durock to get to the stud.

This video is better than the instructions...but let me tell you the maxx quality is horrible...logos are upside down...panels for shower were scratched and mold was to big...honestly just go with another company...I'm doing magic to make these senior citizens so they can have a bath...real frustrating!
