I DIY everything, even when I shouldn't.
On my channel, you will see some very successful AND unsuccessful attempts at different projects, events, and ideas.
It's important to remember that some things don't always work out how you imagined they would, but that doesn't mean you should give up or not attempt them at all. To me, the joy of a build is the process of pushing through the obstacles, learning by doing, and bringing your creativity to life despite what others may think or say.

Test Driving the AE86
zhlédnutí 73Před 10 měsíci
I've been working on getting some kinks out of the 86s system over the last few years. Now that I have a GoPro, I can finally take you on some test drives where I figure out what my next moves are in order to get this thing functioning at 100%. On this drive, I noticed several issues. - At WOT, the motor isn't getting enough fuel and leans out in the higher RPM. - The speedometer takes a little...

Awesome New Taillights for the FRS!!
zhlédnutí 391Před 2 lety
After an accident, I converted the FRS back to stock to avoid losing any parts if the car was deemed a total loss. The car was successfully repaired, but I managed to find a way to ruin perfectly good tail lights in all of the part swapping that went down. Now I finally have a good set of tail lights to pop on in place of the ruined set so I can finally drive at night! Enjoy the video and let m...
How to EASILY Change Spark Plugs for the FRS, BRZ, 86, and 2015-2021 WRX
zhlédnutí 3,2KPřed 2 lety
After seeing quite a few videos floating the social media sea, I decided to make a video in an attempt to correct the incorrect information floating around. I'm sure most of you are already aware, but I'm equally just as sure that the misinformation may be costing some FA20 owners a bit of money. I hope this helps bring light to how easy it is to do these yourself.
Seafoam Treatment for the WRX (I think I did it wrong)

As you can probably see, I didn't know what I was doing. Maybe I'm dense or maybe I'm overprotective... but I wasn't adding enough seafoam to do the job properly which is why I made a 5 minute job take an hour...
Installing OLM Hikari Headlights on the WRX
zhlédnutí 1,2KPřed 2 lety
In an effort to simplify and slim down the complexity of the car, I opted to replace my current built headlights for a set of OLM Hikari headlights which don't require nearly as many wires to function. Totally worth the swap! (Due to CZcams copy right claims, there will be a segment which has been muted because of a song playing in the background.. it couldn't be helped unfortunately)
Installing STI Brakes on my WRX

This was a very overdue upgrade that should have happened once I started running E85. I wanted to show you the process of getting the 2017 STI brake system fit to the 2017 WRX. I imagine that the other year VA chassis have a similar process. Enjoy!

Did it hyperflash at all?
That looks very nice & easier than I expected. Definitely doing this to my WRX
Do you have any fuel upgrades?
If people knew how hard it is to do standard maintenance on Subarus, they probably would have never bought them. Many sell, trade back, or otherwise get rid of them when just simple maintenance becomes a pain or very expensive. Your video @Stephen Baran is more likely helping out 1000's of drivers at least enough to change their spark plugs.
Did you not need an adapter bracket for the rears?
No adapter was needed! Bolted right up, just need different bolts if I remember right.
I'm really glad I found a video that shows how to get that damn fuel rail shield out. I did the passenger side after a lot of trouble but gave up on trying to get that shield out for the driver side and was about to find a garage that would jack the engine up to get it
It’s a tricky one but the engine definitely doesn’t need to be removed! I’m glad my video was able to help a bit.
@@StephenBaran Yeah, it saved me going to a shop. Biggest tip I can leave because I didn't notice it until I got a misfire error is you can put the metal clips back on the connectors before you try to plug them back onto the coil packs. For 3 out of 4 I was able to get them plugged in and then clipped on but the rear driver side made me realize my mistake.
Shit is sick bro, after I get my STi finished up, imma look for an ae86, always wanted one when I was kid along w my blobeye sti
Do it! I love mine. I’ll be recording more of it soon, I’ve just been really busy with work and my business. The biggest trick to building an 80s Toyota is making most things yourself. It’s tough but extremely rewarding.
Is it really necessary to change the brake lines?
It’s not but if I already need to bleed the brake fluid, might as well do the lines while I’m at it. Stainless lines are a nice improvement over OEM rubber anyway. Less likely to have issues in the long run.
Thanks for actually showing me
wheel arches looking sick. not bad on vinyl wrap color. Would dig to know more about the engine. Your work so far is FIRE!! Keep it up.. not easy with 2 jobs I guess
Thank you! I can definitely cover the 4A in a video. I'll be working on building a separate 4A so it would work out perfectly!

Was this with a flux welder or MiG???
This was flux but I don’t recommend it now that I’ve been welding for a while now!
Bro what turbo do you have it sounds like heaven😭 and that wing is just amazing bro loved this , lowkey want your car
Thank you! It’s the OEM turbo! The Hellfire Fab side exit just really brings out the turbo spool!
you should buy the can with the straw and then it goes right into the air intake right before the throttle plate. That way it cleans your throttle body
The only difference betweed fwd and rwd waterpump is the waterpump pulley they compensate for the offset
Yeah I ended up learning that after I already sourced the new parts 😂 I just ordered another FWD water pump so I didn’t need to replace the crank pulley or space out the alternator.
Awesome! Can't wait to see the progress. I subbed!
Thanks so much for the sub! I have a ton of work left and even more to learn so there will be many more videos on this project. 🫡
Nice! Can't wait. Keep up the good work!@@StephenBaran
This thing is sweet! Good luck with the rest of the build!
Thank you thank you!! I’ll need it 😅
I found this after hearing too many people aggressively and confidently telling me you have to drop the motor and go through so much crap. Nice job 👍
Thank you! I'm glad it helped out!
This was very helpful, thank you homie!
I’m stoked that it helped!
I loved the results of mine. But since I lacked the OEM shims I'm getting pad rattle over bumps so I need to order some.
You said a 5 month wait time for the 74 inch spoiler?? Even if it isnt carbon fiber???
It was at the time, even if it wasn’t carbon. I’m not sure now though, it’s been awhile since this video was uploaded lol
I know this is an old ass video, but im about to convert my 650r. Is that just the factory belly fairing you put back on the bike? Did you need to modify anything for it to sit by itself? Looks bad ass!
The fairings and almost all parts we used were all OEM other than the headlights. I don't remember if we modified them or not since it's been so long since we did that. The brackets were all made by us to get the headlights and cluster mounted where they were.
do you have any rust issue?
I noticed a slight bit of rusting on the inside of the bash bar tubing where they didn’t plate it off. It wasn’t much at all but it was there. I haven’t had the chassis mount wing on the car for awhile now but it held up great for the 3 years that it was on my build.
Make sure the car is up to running temperature.
Why make a decent car so ugly?
Why not? 🙃
Are you guys still in business?
Yes sir, Hellfire Fabrication is what I changed the branding over to. I don’t offer fog deletes anymore though.
where did you get the bracket for the speedometer/tachometer? i did something similar .. looking for solutions, thanks
I got a bendy magnet to help with mine. I also ground the ball out of the socket extension with a Dremel tool so that it doesn't stick inside the socket -- much easier to take apart, so now, instead of having the spring-loaded ball which makes the extension stick inside the socket, there's just a hole there, and the extension is easier to put in place and pull back out again.
That is a fantastic idea! I might have to steal that idea!
@@StephenBaran Thanks - yeah, it works really well. If you're careful, you can also get the wrench never to click into the extension, i.e. only insert it part way -- it's enough to do spark plugs. If I were feeling really irresponsible, I'd grind the ball out of the wrench as well... perhaps if I had a second, shitty one I'd do it!
Super helpful - thanks for making this video
I’m glad I could help! Thanks for watching!!
i tried to do everything properly but i got impatient after a year of building it so i did a few things that would be considered "subpar". i was also learning while i was building it. glad you got her back up and going. i do miss it but im def gunna be more patient and meticulous with the next one.
No worries bro, I have to tell myself to slow down with the build often. I get in a rush and just want to drive it. It’s natural with this kind of hobby. If it wasn’t for you giving this car a chance to begin with, it never would have made it to me!
didnt expect to find my old 86 on YT lol im excited to see what you do with it. hopefully picking another sr5 coupe up at the end of the month to build.
Dude, that would be awesome to see you in another 86! I wasn’t going to record much of this build but finding your old videos of it inspired me to keep up with documenting it.
This shit fcks
Ive always done it with the car running and you hold part throttle so ot doesn't choke out then whem the bottle is getting low dump it in so the car stalls out or turn off so it sits. Let sit for 20 mins or so start back up and poof! Never done it on my 18 wrx tho.
Also ive only done it from brake booster slurping it up into intake from bucket
Hey bro I was wondering how you mounted the tachometer to the handlebars? Did you have to fabricate something or were you able to buy a bracket or something?
Cluster*
Once you finish the header design. I’ll definitely be buying
I see you disconnected the coil pack from the spark plugs . Did you have to disconnect the COIL PACK from the INGINITON COIL CONNECTOR at all ? I"m slightly nervous due to tiny space of this car. Thank you .
Don’t be nervous, everything can be wiggled around and fit where they need to go. I left the coil packs fully plugged in, I just popped them off of the spark plugs and put of the valve covers to gain access to the plugs.
@@StephenBaran Hi, I'm doing this for the first and tried starting with the driver's side rear coil and could not get the coil pack out. Would you advise that I remove the front coil pack first? Any tricks for wiggling it out of there? EDIT - I managed to do it. I pushed the rear driver's side spark plug towards the back. Took a bit of effort!
Could u drop a Link for the Y pipe and. Headers??
Would like some advice on modifying my 07 650r, interested?
I'd like to thank you lol due to me using your video in an essay I have to write. Thank you very much and the GTR looks beautiful!
I’m happy that it helped you out! 🥰
What were those head/tail lights please let me know!!!
ae86s are on hell of a car, nice to see you bringing her back to life
It’s been a process, but I’m happy to have the opportunity to bring it back!
I see your OE exhaust was leaking at the muffler flange too as witnessed at 2:24...was this really necessary on a "styled street car"?
I use my personal build for my business and to build custom exhausts from time to time. It’s a normal occurrence for me to move the car with exhaust pieces missing if I’m in the middle of a fab job. I build and modify this car for both myself and for research. Definitely not necessary for a standard street car, however with the work I do for clients who race their VAs, it was definitely worth the knowledge and experience gained from this process. 😊
Please tell me you or someone else still makes these?
I’m actually working on bringing them back as a V2. I don’t have an estimate on when I’ll release them, but they will be back!
Where are the front turn signals? Lol it looks nice but def illegal where I live Dx
Wastegates gated to 8lbs? But peak boost 22? Hmm
Your guess is as good as mine 😅 My tuner (Ron at Phatbotti) said “put 8lb springs in” and then tuned for it. Tuning is definitely not my forte.
If anyone is having trouble removing the spark plug with the magnet, a pair of curved tip pliers work great
Thank you both of you for tips and making this vdo. I will take this task soon. The dealerships wants 750 !!

@@vision1707 You don't have to if you're just doing plugs - you can kind of move it out of the way with the cable still connected to it and it's fine. If you're changing coil packs as well -- well, that's a different story! The coil pack connectors have this little wire clip deal on them which is a pain in the nuts to take off and put back, so it's better just to leave it alone and let the coil pack be connected the whole time.
What kind of exhaust is that?
I'm not too sure, but it's been all hacked up and modified. I plan on rebuilding a full header back system once this header flange comes in.
where did you get the y pipe and headers can you drop a link ????
What tune are you running??
Love it!
Thanks homie! Hope you’ve been doing well!
