Welcome to the English version of SCHEPPERZ. As I got several comments wanting my videos and the Techno stuff I do in English I decided to create this dedicated channel for English content instead of mixing both languages on my other channel.

Dan Worralls Video "WTF is a compander" was die inspiration for this video. In his video he lays out the principle in depth. As I wanted to test this as well but didn't want to spend around 130€, I was looking for alternatives.
And I found one. Of course it's not that packed with all the features U-HE Satin has but it's free and got me in the same direction.
Namely it's the free tool called Ableton Re-Enveloper and this pack (Creative Extensions) is free for Standard and Suite users.
With this rack I've built it is possible to totally destroy and kill the sounds but still having dynamics.

I have satin and watched dans tutorial was blown away and yet I still haven’t used it 😂 Great option of similar using re enveloper Not many vids on re enveloper and I find it excellent for mastering It’s like ozone impact and a multiband transient shaper in one. Usually that would need two or more plugins and I don’t know of any other free options

What is that called when you remove that punchiness from the kick at different points?How is that done?
Without looking at the video I reckon that’s done by enabling a high pass filter. Typically I am using Ableton’s Auto Filter for this. An automated low cut (24 dB) for 1 bar or so is resulting in that effect. Hope that helps 🙂
And that low cut is around 100 - 200 Hz
