What is the Golden Ratio?
zhlédnutí 10KPřed 4 lety
Discover the sacred mathematical code (sacred geometry) that underlies beauty and creation in the world around us-in art, architecture, music and the creation of the universe and human body called the golden ratio. The phi ratio or golden ratio/sacred geometry was initially discovered by the Ancient Greeks and can be seen in the most beautiful architecture, paintings, music and even in the orbi...

I'm 34 and my maths is probably around a grade 4 level. Just got super into it and having a blast learning and pushing myself
People who already know calculus will understand this video.
This was so helpful!! You rock! You mixed visuals and detailed information together. The music wasn’t too much and the most important thing you did was explain why? Why?? 😫😩 Why, do we need this? And it turned out to not be so intimidating. 🧮
Distracting background music gets my dislike
❤ thanks alot 🙏
the piano was very distracting..I did not even like the tune and I play at entry level. piano..
You have about as much chance of getting into the NBA as you do of getting a job that actually uses calculus. You're not gonna be tuning up the jpeg compression algorithm. Some guy way smarter than you with autism has already done that to peak efficiency. But hey if you think you're gonna be that guy, go for it. Just stop telling the general public they need. I suppose it makes folks generally more intelligent, but it's not useful. Trig is actually useful.
thank you so so much!
4:10 It physically hurt when she pronounced "Fermat" as "fer-matt" instead of "fer-mah".
okay but I found it a little racist because you didn't give a single place to Eastern mathematicians :/
The music is distracting, I kept thinking about the change in note intervals
So informative! Thanks a lot.
I'm sure that this is an excellent exposition, but putting music behind such things is for me exhausting and counterproductive. As far as I'm concerned, music is something you listen to, not a background, and it distracts constantly. Another educational category which is generally disregarded.
Only engineers understand calculus..... So application is limited to engineering fields only.... Doctors and Economists and Meteorologists may not be able to understand or apply calculus.
POW POW company is one of the best companies out there! :D
I believe that educational institutions use Calculus as a screening mechanism to determine who is intelligent or not. Just to weed out people for jobs or training that they would otherwise benefit from. Most people would have no use for what you show in this clip. How many people in the U.S. population actually need to figure out most of the things you outline here that are not in the STEM fields? I doubt that most STEM workers even use most of what is taught in Calculus classes. I saw where an engineer said that he uses little or no Calculus in his work because a computer does it all. A lot of college students are required to take one or two classes, and then after they leave school, most don't even remember college algebra, let alone Calculus. I have asked numerous people if they could remember enough to pass a test. 98% laugh and say they couldn't remember H.S. algebra. So, unless you are in a highly technical field where you would use Calculus every day and quite often, I would say Calculus and even the higher math taught in college or H.S. is not beneficial for the majority of people at work, or in their daily lives. Most of the simpler applications you show in the clip can be solved by using simpler math taught in elementary school or H.S. math.
This content is rife with pioneering ideas. I encountered a book with like themes that revolutionized my thinking. "A Life Unplugged: Reclaiming Reality in a Digital Age" by Theodore Blaze
Thank you
arigato gyro
Thank you. I still don't understand exactly how it all works but I do understand better why we need it.
Sooooo.. easy explanation. Hope my teachers taught this way in schools😭. Thank You for such a crystal clear explanation❤.
Thank you🥰
If only teachers spent time explaining real world applications of things like Calculus, Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, most students would grasp the concepts faster. I remember sitting in class never grasping algebra because none of it ever made sense. What was the whole purpose of learning these concepts if we never used them or understood or why they are used? I feel like if I knew what the purpose of maths were, I would've felt more engaged to learn and grasp the concepts faster than just getting it drilled into my head.
I love math and physics
Precalculus destroyed me

Here is a video that uses calculus to find how to best evade an oncoming vehicle: czcams.com/video/qXcmSSO_8Eo/video.html This video is from the MathTheWorld youtube channel and according to their intro video, there will be other videos coming out on that channel that uses calculus as well.
financial value.
and high value, normal and freebie datasets.
why do you have this disturbing music behind your talk...this very disturbibg
This is one of the best videos I must say I have seen on internet in quite sometimes !! bravo good going
So where is the rest of lesson ? all I see is lesson 6 ? where is lesson 1 Lisa ?
so basically Newton invented calculus in order to explain an apple falling from a tree, how incredible. Respect+++
We use algebra and arithmetic for where we started. We use calculus for how it's going.
Nope.. useless calculus in rela life.
4:42 somewhere after here i am lost
To whomever is the creator of this CZcams channel THANK YOU..
Great Lisa!
This video is highly recommended for students like us who venture in the world of mathematics for quenching the thirst of knowledge 😊😊.... definitely this is one of the most essential branch of mathematics..and the most interesting branch😊... learning the origin of calculus is required to start studying calculus
If my teachers would have actually given concrete examples of the calculus stuff being applied in the real world, maybe I wouldn't have dropped out of college. I left with the impression that they were just a bunch of eggheads crunching arbitrary numbers for no good reason and failed me because I couldn't have my head in the clouds like them. Now I'm a programmer who uses trig and linear algebra quite regularly and is trying to understand calculus. Most videos I've seen don't explain what calculus actually is though. Glad I found this.
3:59 - 6:00 Astrophysics
Amazing, thank you !
Thanks ! Great video !
Im a computer science student and i wanna know which part of computer science use calculus.
Hi Lisa. This was a very informative video to watch. Can you also explain how you formulated the revenue function? It would be great to know the logic behind the expression.
hi sa akong mga cm diha
kiata AHAHAHA
How do you define calculus based on the video
I've watched 10+ calculus explainer videos and this is the first one I've come across that actually includes example applications. Thank you!

Just came upon the channel and immediately fell in love with it. Good job and thank you
Many great example problems. Thanks.
