Hello your videos are great!!! Can i know how do you put water ? I see your hands with water, but there seem to be no water in the white box..... I know that water is very important. Thank you
hello thank you! I have a water bucket off-screen I dip the rocks in
@@thebroadhouse ok thank you so much!!
@@adilakshmi777 anytime :) 💜
About how long did it take you to polish that piece?
probably about 4 hours worth of work
looks like a face blowing a kiss
it does kinda 🥰
What are you using, and where did you get it?I definitely need one of them!
it's a variable speed polisher/sander and we got it from Harbor Freight here's the link- www.harborfreight.com/10-amp-7-in-variable-speed-rotary-polishersander-70589.html we had to purchase a different backer pad to accommodate the diamond polishing pads we got on Amazon. here's the link for those- www.amazon.com/dp/B0B2DHFJ7J?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
May I ask what speed your dremel is on? Sorry if it’s mentioned somewhere and I missed it
always on low speed! anytime I try to go on high it wears my bits down too fast. I didn't mention it in the video, but that's something I should start mentioning going forward. sorry about that!
How long did this take you start to finish?
around 4 hours of work
@@thebroadhouseawesome! What speed do you use?
@sB-wt7jy always low. anytime I try on high it wears my bits down too fast
Beautiful! Do you wear a mask when grinding? If so, what kind?
Thank you so much! I wear a half-face respirator, but an N95 mask would work as well.
That’s a yooper light shine a block light
you think so?! I got it from the mountains in Colorado. I thought it was gneiss
Your video I wish you left the band home
😮
Ich arbeite auch mit dem Dremel. Welches Schleifwerkzeug verwendest du. Leider gibt es bei uns (Schweden) keine Achate.
this video we recently posted has links for the tools we use on the Dremel in the description and the video shows how we use them! I didn't find this piece of moss agate, I wish I did. I had to buy it.
in the description for this video - czcams.com/video/sqqop2EaPco/video.html there's links for the tools we use and the video itself shows how we use them. unfortunately I haven't been lucky enough to find something this nice, I had to purchase the moss agate.
What kind of bit are you using? I just got a dremmel to use for a marble table I’m trying to fix
ooh that's interesting! come back here if you remember and let me know how it went. I'm going to link a recent video of ours it has links in the description for the bits and the video shows how we use them czcams.com/video/sqqop2EaPco/video.htmlsi=nRWnfBvHyzSEJkHO
What is the tool called?
it's a variable speed polisher/sander we got it from Harbor Freight. here's the link- www.harborfreight.com/10-amp-7-in-variable-speed-rotary-polishersander-70589.html
Turned out amazing!
thank you!!
Do you have a rundown on materials and grits used?
I do! czcams.com/video/sqqop2EaPco/video.html

How do you earn collecting rocks?
we don't
BELA❤🇧🇷
thank you!!
Thank you i had so many questions on what to use. Im going to try this with ruby zoisite. I tumbled a batch but they wont polish tumbling i hope this works. Also thanks for adding the links on what to purchase. All so helpful and informative 😊
ruby zoisite will do beautifully! I have some I want to polish but the pieces I have are too small. it's good to know they don't tumble well! thanks for that information! ☺️💜
@thebroadhouse they tumble well they just won't polish I tried dry polishing in the rotary tumbler with tin oxide as well as with water just would not polish. I think using the dremel will work following your instructions 😊 thanks so much!
@michellebelding2325 you're far more knowledgeable about tumbling than me. I have a couple, just nowhere to set them up currently. well I wish you the best of luck with your ruby zoisite and I hope to see you around again :) if you ever make any videos of your rocks tag us we'd love to see! 💜
@thebroadhouse I subscribed to your channel I love what I've seen..thanks again🩷
@@michellebelding2325 thank you!!! 💞
Nice videos What tools are you using on the dremel?
thank you! there's links for the tools in the description of this video- czcams.com/video/sqqop2EaPco/video.html
Do you ever place your Dremel into a holding device (vice, clamp, etc.) and move the rock surface to it? I want to get as flat a surface face as possible with my material. Great video!! Thanks for the instructions!
No I haven't ever done that before! That's a good idea though!! Thank you 💜
Amber may be too harsh for this, I don't want to break it. ideas?
Amber is soft like calcite! You should have no problem polishing amber with this method.
Thank you! Looking to start with a Dremel but was not sure where to start. How long did it take you to go from start to finish and what sort of speed was the Dremel set at?
It takes a few hours depending on the size and hardness. This calcite took about 3-4 hours whereas a piece of jasper I'm currently working on has that much time in it and I'm still not done shaping.
Many thanks @@thebroadhouse

@@thebroadhouse you don't make Money by selling them?
@sayedsajeed7748 no we don't make any money at all from rock stuff. we're hoping one day we can!
Very gneiss!
😂
Great idea. I was just looking into this tool and wondering how to use it for polishing rocks. Thanks for sharing.
thank you 💜
I loved your video! I’ve only started collecting rocks in the last 2-3 years. Purely by accident lol I have maybe a dozen smaller (quarter to half dollar sizes) sandstone rocks. They look so beautiful when wet and finally sat down to see if there’s a way to polish them. Although, I’m not sure with mine being smaller if your method here would work. Do you have any other suggestions?
hi thank you! 💜 sorry it took me so long! I would suggest trying a Dremel. We actually just uploaded a video on how to polish rocks with a Dremel you should check it out and let me know if you have any questions!

Hey😊 Awesome work🎉 what kind of saw are you using?
Hello! thank you! ☺️ it's a tabletop wet saw. here's the link for it! - www.harborfreight.com/48-amp-7-in-table-top-wet-cut-tile-saw-69231.html
@thebroadhouse can you please do a full video on what type of bits and polishing material you used. I have yet to successfully polish a stone with a dremel 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
yes we'll do that in our next video. we're working on it now! it will be a piece of banded calcite
Really nice, how long it took you to completely polish it?
thank you! For something soft like fluorite, it takes about 3 hours.
Is it a had held grinder??? Is so please just buy the correct tool for the job. As I have done a stupid with a plugin hand held belt sander. And 6 or 7 weeks later my finger healed up enough to go back to making my earrings, and yes I got the correct tool for the job!
Yes this is a handheld but it's mounted to a table. Definitely would never use a belt sander like this 😦 glad you healed up!!
What is the actual name of the rock?
it's epidote with red piemontite
Trying to be helpful, not critical here. You should sweep out as much dust and chips as possible before you vacuum. I makes the vacuum suction much stronger, much more time between cleaning the filter and the filters last a lot longer
thanks! that makes sense
@@thebroadhouseYou're welcome, fren
I see a nine inch angle grinder or a buffer for painting finish. Variable speed is important.
