Here is a VW being tinted during a time lapse. NC legal film. Johnson window films marathon 35%
I thought the film was applied on the outside of the glass to be reflecting
So you squeegee the moisture out and let it cure? I squeegee then pass again with a blue unger tool to push out most all of the moisture then pooling is less likely
ALL WRONG.
uhh...the instructions specifically say to install the film on the outside if its a double pane window.....
Hey i just followed your example, awesome thankyou!!. Job done and not bad for a first effort. No bubbles at least. Would add though to wash the edges thoroughly before starting. My old doors had collected alot of grime over the years.👍
My god. You just jinxed me on the “waste one or two films before getting it right as a beginner” part. 😂 Here I am, placing another identical order for the film cause I completely screwed the first attempt.
Where can I get this wide tint?
esta mal de como pela la lamina , xq toda lamina tiene pegamento , es como una aspiradora q todo el polvo y pelusa se pagan en la laminas . La manera mas facil es hacer un rollito y poco a poco desembolver la lamina
Would love to see a close up shot of the cutting process. That is what I'm most apprehensive about screwing up.
omg, this video was 8 years ago, do you really still work like this? ) It wasn't professional back then
you can tell this guy is a pro and he does this for a living!
Interesting cos it’s nothing like we do it in Australia, never seen anyone handle film like that before 😮
Can this be removed? (In a rental)
What do you spray it with
WhT size roll is that?
Thank you so so much, great job you made it easier for us non-pros 🙏🏻
A great help. Thank you Brian.
Should roll the film like hanging wallpaper
where did you get the film and is it mirrored?
where do you get these films? Im looking for a big one for my slinging glass doors that are bigger than these
So much contamination coming off clothes and all the motions bring air and wind, terrible why not spray the tint to blow off and contamination and leave half the plastic and peel away as you lay the film. This is terrible advice
Why make a video and not show what it looks like from the outside after your done
it's very bad. please carefully do it
Looks super easy. I can definitely do this! Thank you god sharing
you should hose the interior down more, just for good measure
how much would a pro tint guy want to do this patio sliding window I called a few people in my town and they all were around 400-500 dollars is that too much to pay?
What are you spraying the window with?
What solution or liquid are you spraying the glass with?
Looks tricky and tedious
You missed a spot. Lol jk in all seriousness what do you use while cleaning the windows?
what size did you buy ?
Sorry what was on spray bottle
Can you see through this film at night? That would be great if it I can't.
What’s in the spray bottle
Bc rolling the film to remove backing easily on your own as you apply to glass would just be foolish. The whole time you were taking off the backing, I was cringing, certain you’d end up with creases
You making it harder than it seems I tint car windows and it's basically the same process and not hard at all. You should never peel the protective layer on the film until its been measured and cut and ready to install that way you don't get any dust on it
Great video. I hyperventilate at the thought of beginning this project. I'm a perfectionist and this will go on the window I sit next to all day. I don't want to end up with a goof that haunts me every time I look at or out the window.
Wouldn't it b easier to roll it. Then release it from top to bottom
Hi, I need some tips please. I'm just starting out with tinting. I have a major issue with most dirt on the edges and corners that doesn't always stick. I scrape the glass, squeegee it then wipe the edges all around. This is a nightmare for me!!!
Clean the edges more, use more soap and use better film if it doesn't stick
I don't know where anything advanced is here. after all it's a typical basic tinting ... Besides, after shrinking the foil, you moved it to the rear window, which it is not known if it was cleaned (which may confuse a beginner and result in dirt on the foil) Then you did not dry the top edge before closing the glass. while removing the entire liner from the foil, which touches the upholstery and catches the dirt, it is a total amateur. I recommend that you first learn to tint properly and then pop up with texts "not for beginners"
I do the dry sheet shrinking it’s better
What was the white balance of your gopro in this video?
Very helpful thanks
If you cut it first. It's way easier and cleaner. And if you use a card to push the film into the corner while you cut it it makes a way better cut. Push the car to the corner and then put your blade between the card and the corner and then drag both the knife and the card to make a very straight cut
Are you still tinting cars and house’s? I see this was 8 years ago. Wondering if you blew up on this and crushing it.
Awesome job bro! Look into reverse rolling when removing the film. I usually make my cuts with the protective liner on. Then peel liner back half way while it is still on the glass and wet it then lay liner back down. Do it on both sides to get all the glue side wet. Then roll it up and prep your glass. And you can reverse roll back on the glass allowing the liner to come unrolled as you go. This way your glue side is never without the liner until it hits the glass. Has been very helpful to me. Hope it helps someone else.
That make sense bcz we did it his way & the liner was sticking to its self so bad we had throw away the 1st one.
So very helpful for a beginner... my husband did the small windows (either side of the front door) without watching, and "gifted" me the larger windows in the gym / office. I really got great input from this and can't wait to have beautiful windows!
Can security film be used on the outside of windows which already have a mirror tint film
Nice job - I hope the guys that did my windows did as good a job.
Wow, you made that look easy. The cutting the corners is the hardest for me, the film trimming tool Gila gives you in the installation kit for trimming is crap, I'm gonna use a razor blade like you did.
Thank you! I have been looking for an answer to the corner question myself.
Can you use either side of the film? Or only the backing side?
