I think it's right you do want you need to do Garry and I look forward to your return in whatever format it takes. I've been doing this CZcams thing for about 2 years now and it can be time consuming and so needs to be fully enjoyable to continue. Sometimes it can be hard to put photography first and I'm glad you've got yourself some new gear. Forever Forwards 😊

Thank you for keeping us unformed. I understand where you are coming from. It is nearly four years since I put out my first video and have been weekly since the start of 2022. It is hard even when you are motivated and feeling good about it. When the motivation dips and time is limited it becomes very hard. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for this great video, Gary. My wife and I will be visiting Iceland next month. During the trip we will be staying in Skaftafell, which is near the Svínafellsjökull Glacier. After watching your video, we've added the glacier to our list of photography locations. Cheers!

Hi Gary, I feel your pain, I started a youtube channel around 2 years ago, it was only going for a few months then I ran into real world commitments such as moving house, being made redundant and changing jobs and some other stuff. So, like you I decided to leave it alone, that was 2 years ago and even though I keep meaning to return, I haven't yet, but, I am going to, only to document my travels and adventures. Like you, I will not be actively seeking massive subs, but I did enjoy making the videos, so I'm going to return. You need to take a break for as long as suits you mate, I'm sure at some point, like myself, that you'll feel the time is right to return and maybe this time, don't feel pressured to release a video weekely. I watch a couple of vloggers that release something when THEY want to, not when the algorithm tells them to. Anyway, good luck and enjoy the Z8, take care. Steve.

I'm late to the party Garry, but have thoroughly enjoyed the vlogs. As you say, a break will give you time to reassess things. You need to enjoy pulling them together & I know how long each of these take. Maybe the mojo will be back in time for the September meet up. I could guest star !!

I can really relate to this mate and I think if it's best for you then yes it's a great idea. Don't set a timescale for your return or how often you put of videos. But I will say I do hope to see you back soon mate, take care

Completely understand your reasons mate, been through the same myself, come back when you're ready, you've earned a good rest.

I can guess one of the reasons you've powered through though the vlog side is not sparking the same joy and feeling like a chore or duty at the moment. Take a pause and reset is exactly what would be being said to you! As the growth of the channel is an achievement now enjoy it rather than burning out. CZcams is hard work and no one works a whole year without a holiday. Embrace the break and take all the photos 📷

Hi Garry, think we have all been there, i certainly have. You may have noticed i do not upload regularly or to any kind of schedule. I just record a vlog whenever i can, like you i struggle with content, i struggle with locations as i am as far south east as you can get so i am limited to one direction of travel really. I , like you do it as i enjoy the whole process so for me, doing a video here and there whenever i can works for me. If people follow along i really appreciate their interest and watching etc . Its meant to be enjoyable ! Good luck Bud ! Look forward to watching , whenever that may be !

I always wondered where you got the strength for releasing videos weekly. I struggle even with the fortnightly release. 😂 I totally understand you, have a rest, recharge the batteries. We're not going to go anywhere. Try to do some shootings without recording video, just what you enjoy the best. I did that many times, it can be relaxing.

Its important to do what's right for you. I enjoy your photography and your videos so I have followed you on Instagram. Enjoy your break and please don't feel pressured into producing videos by people or by the CZcams algorithms. A number of other "CZcamsrs" that I follow have expressed similar feelings so you are not alone. Life is for living and enjoying 👍🙂

I fully understand your decision personally doing YT would get in the way of my photography and I'd feel pressured into going out when conditions aren't favourable just to get a vlog in the bag and released. I'm not bothered if a You Tuber releases regular vlogs or as and when they have one. Quality NOT quantity definitely applies here. I love watching your videos and your down to earth presentation. Hopefully see you again soon on another meet up. On another note what a stunning outlook you have from your garden 😍 we're surrounded by houses where I live 😊 I'm sure we'll see a return when Autumn kicks in and the leaves on the tree's are turning. Hey mate. Don't be so hard on yourself. I know the massive effort and time taken to make the videos. I've been there for the multiple retakes! I know the thought that you put into each and every one. Producing just one vlog a week is a full time job, no question. Look after yourself Garry and your mojo will return. I think limiting the videos to say one a month instead of every week will be a huge help. I mean look at the Star Wars franchise. Great when there is a movie every few years but fricking dire when it turns into a TV soap opera. 😉 Stay strong, use the force and don't feed yourself after midnight (er...that might be a different movie). 👍

Great job mate, good review, great filters, but I've suggested to get rid of the grad and give a CPL too.

Like you i also suggested to K&F about replacing the grad with a cpl. I find them really good value and have so far had no issue with quality, no colour cast , really been impressed with them.

Hi Garry just looking back through your archive and realised I'd not watched this vlog. I really need to return to Dinorwic Quarry it's a fantastic location especially in moody conditions which is probably quite regular in Snowdonia 😊 Have you been to the upper levels? You could easily spend a whole weekend at this location. I've not been to that bridge yet but it's on my list of places to visit.

Hi Garry I've seen other reviews for those filters and all seem to be positive even compared to the (in my opinion overpriced) Kase. Regarding that transport to Spurn Point I'm sure you'd have to pay for it and being a Yorkshire man I reckon you'd rather walk 😉 😂 Last time I visited that location the day after a Storm had passed through I returned to my van parked further along the prom towards Rossall to find the rear windows shattered!! The van was covered in sand so I can only assume it had been engulfed by a massive wave 😓 so I can understand the lifeguard advising you to move higher up the steps. You got some great fine art images there and at Spurn. I've not even looked mine from my trip in May 😊

Perfectly composed beautiful fine art seascapes. These are really my cup of tea. I have those K&F filters myself and love them. As you said literally no colour cast. I just need to convince K&F somehow to send their stuff to me too. Especially that 3-way geared head, you've been using. 😁

Thanks for an interesting video with some great images. I have been using K&F magnetic filters for quite a while and I have found them to be great value for money and quality. As you have said the convenience of magnetic filters makes them so easy to use. 🙂
