How to Exit a Corvette With a Dead Battery! Don't Get Trapped in Your C6! Emergency Release Handle!
The 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 Chevy Corvette doesn't use an actual "key" to lock and unlock its doors. So how to you get into a Corvette when the battery dies? The C6 Corvettes use a fob that contains a key within it. If your Corvette battery dies, simply remove the key from within the fob device and insert it into the keyhole above the license plate panel at the rear of the car. Turn the key to unlatch the trunk, where you will find a cable on the left side of the trunk interior that you can pull to open the driver side car door. How do you get out of a Corvette with a dead battery? Help avoid this potentially embarrassing situation by knowing how to get out of your own car! There is a lever that you can pull on the driver side floor on the left side of the seat that will open the door for you. It may sound simple, but you wouldn't want to be trapped in a hot Vette in the summer yelling for help!

Helpful video. Nice job. My personal preference: use automotive ramps vs. a jack and jack stands. Also, as others have said, after removing an oil filter, always check to see if the filter gasket also came off and wipe down the filter mounting base. I wish GM placed its oil filters in easier to service locations.

Great maintenance tip & video .
I replaced both the left pcv valve and the right is like a fresh air intake vavle or connector. The right line had oil in that tube and I used brakleen to clean it out. I also drilled out the holes on the left pcv to 7/64 for the top hole and 5/64 for the bottom two holes do it could breathe better. Mine cts is the base model, not awd or the v8. The pcv was very nasty and that hose I believe will also have oil in it, I had to get more brakleener. I'm waiting for the plenum gaskets to come in so I can change the spark plugs since I have to remove the intake. I also cleaned the maf sensor and most of the throttle body, but I need to take that off completely to clean it. Just put rear shocks on it and new front rotors and pads, did both front wheel bearing hubs not too long ago. I have front struts to put on and I will probably be doing the tie rods also. Car is still very reliable and just needs some tlc

Hi Steven.........followed and enjoyed your site for quite a few years. I have had LT1 cars (94 to 96) for 28 years, 3 wagons, 2 FW's and a Caprice, probably at least a couple 100 thousand miles. Gotta agree with you about the OPTI's. They are the first thing blamed, but seldom the cause. I've never had to replace one. I've had my share of problems with fuel pumps. Without out a doubt, the worst problem I've had is when the IAC control failed. We were driving the Caprice Wagon, on a secondary highway when all of a sudden the car sped up. Between riding the brake, down shifting and putting it in neutral, I was able to get her on the side of the rode. The brakes were very hot as was the engine. Luckily I had some WD40 with me and soaked all the linkages etc etc. I made it to the next exit to an O'Reilly's, got some more WD40 and a few other supplies. I made it the 100 miles home, but I was one edge the whole way. I had the check engine light read, it was the IAC. I replaced it, and have never had the issue again. I've had that wagon for 14 years. It's my daily driver, but I can't trust it. I have 2 FW's now, I was getting a little bucking between 70 and 75 always the same speed, from my 94. No check engine lights. Ninety four thousand, probably never been tuned up. I tuned it up, somewhat better but still had a little rumble. No check engine lights either. BUT, I happened to notice there was black soot on the ground by the right tail pipe. I knew it was the O2 sensor. Coincidentally the check engine light went on. I read it and replaced the sensor and all is well. That is until last week when the 96 FW started bucking, engine check engine light came on PC 400 (I think) random misfire. Twenty eight years old, I believe the original plugs and wires. Mileage is 72K. I'm going to give it a good looking over. Then I'll probably start with the wires and plugs while I'm at it. Tom
