A good NCO will help you be a good officer. Never play with your men because you don't want them to take kindness as a weakness. You can always reward them for instance like buying pizza or Cokes hang around a little while and leave. Let your nco's handle discipline but if it really gets too bad then NJP is the way to go. I used to tell my guys I will not turn them into the O's meaning officers for non-judicial punishment I will take care of it myself and I had the backing of my lieutenant. During my 8-year career I had to NJP only two Marines You must remember that a lot of these staff ncos have combat experience also they can tell you what works and what does not as far as the manual goes. I had prior experience in leading before with the most elite marching band in the nation where I was the section leader and I would always stay after to hear their stories or explain something better. I did do the buying pizza stuff before and it went over well so I'll keep that idea. I'm not really a "playful" person where I was raised old fashioned of if you want someone to do something you do it with them and don't complain about your struggle and do your job while making sure they do theirs. I was in charge of 30 people learning music to the top quality so I spent extra hours after rehearsal if they didn't understand something and we made it to national finalists. I don't understand. If these are warrant officers, which are supposed to be specialists in technical fields, why are they operating artillery, machineguns and auto grenade launchers? Are they infantry specialists? Then what role do lieutenants serve in the Marines? Are warrants taking over basic leadership roles in the combat arms due to a shortage of lieutenants?

    • @shawnkim8270
      @shawnkim8270 Před 3 lety

      It follows the premise that if all Enlisted Marines are riflemen, so all Marine Officers (Commissioned or Warrant) are taught to be basic platoon leaders. Boot camp for Enlisted Marines basically focus initial training based around physical fitness and basic infantry training. Further schooling afterwards breaks them down into different MOS. TBS is like boot camp for officers with specialty schools after, just like after boot camp. The main difference is that the WOBC is shorter by 3 months because they don't have to do all the basic Marine Corps stuff like how to wear the uniform and such. The Marine Corps doesn't have a dedicated pipeline for officers like the other branches and so can pull officers from many different places. There are ROTC officers, mostly NROTC, but there there are also graduates from the different academies such as Annapolis, West Point and even Colorado Springs. Since they can come from different places, all officers go through TBS or Marine Officer's "boot camp". WOBC class 1-96!

      Because they are Area impact weapons not precision weapons to be able to see the area you are impacting you need to be able to see a wide view if someone is training you in the military to use a sight on anything with less then a 18 inch barrel shooting over a 7.62x54 round they are wrong. Also as good as speed is it can also be a curse not Service Member is going to risk a Warrant Officer course due to an injury caused by tripping cuz they moved to fast.

(Helicopter Flight School) We did not do ground combat maneuver training, as pilot candidates, and did not have to sit on four inches of chair at the mess hall and eat "Squared Off" like the Artillery and Infantry did, but we had to double time everywhere, and mass move in formation. I saw OCS Candidates at Fort Sill, Fort Benning, and Fort Eustis, and they were also much more regimented and controlled than what is shown here. There was a lot of Stand at Ease, and Rest in place, but no "Milling Around" like I see in these videos. I have always heard how much tougher it was in the Marines.
