Hmmmmm idk about this one!😂
I cannot in good faith tell you it was the best smelling scent I ever smelled.... 😬
I just always figured thier underwear that the Amish wear was closer to victorian era.
I think because we often view the Amish as being stuck in time, we often view the things they wear as also being stuck in time. But the materials that they're closed are made from are from our current era and thus their undergarments are also.
Ohhhh beautiful market!❤
It really was gorgeous. I would totally go back in a heartbeat.
Oh that kinda cold 🥶 idk about that!😂
Well it was cold...part of the issue for us was that it was unexpectedly cold for that time of year and we were NOT prepared.
So schön, mein Oma Wagler war Minnonite.
That is awesome. Was she a mennonite from Germany?
@@kristenandscott Swiss
Wow! I guess you have to walk everywhere on that vacation !😂
No doubt. I do not think that the Portuguese people each this everyday.
Hollywood Mennonites 😂😂
Lol, also know as the invisible Mennonites
Ohhhh those are my favorites! My sister’s late mother in law made them and they were so good! They were some of the only recognizable food I found while traveling in China as well. I think they were coffee flavored there. Very yummy and only found them at Kentucky Fried Chicken! 😂
Wait, wait, wait...they make coffee flavored ones??????
Beautiful ❤
It was and is...we have had the change to view it multiple times.
There is no "rule book". Old Order Culture/church rules is typically mostly oral.
This church does indeed have a rule book.
@@kristenandscott Are you referring to the Dordrecht Confession of Faith?
Cod cakes! Yum! I tried to make them once! Trust me, buy them! Worth every penny!
You are not kidding. How did they turn out? Also I am looking for a good recipe if you have one.
That looks amazing! I had a layover in Iceland but never got to go anywhere. It was a military flight too so totally no frills! 😂
That's too bad. Where were you stationed in the military? And what branch?
@@kristenandscott my ex was army. It was a just for fun trip.
It’s great that your Pup travels with you. I have 4 and take them anywhere I decide to go.
Wow! Can you imagine taking them overseas ever?
I love that you brought your dog with you! ❤️
Pep travels with us most places. We love our dog!
Your dog almost drove the cart to the car man
She is a wicked driver.
What a beautiful spot!
And like always the pictures do not do it justice.
Looks like lychee nut Scott.
Where you ever in Reykjavík? If so what did you see? What did we miss?
And just as with a car, that has aged/high mileage/repairs, the horses are dumped at auction.....either in their teens while still looking decent & with some remaining use, or quite OFTEN in really appalling shape. The worst abuse & neglect imaginable, especially the drafts. This isn't a culture/religious bias, but a flat-out abuse of animals & it has ZERO to do with agriculture, but everything to do with bad behavior without check. So please, be honest. This horseman is sick of what she's seen from a community that's not held to the same laws as others living in this country, hiding behind and using faith to excuse deplorable.
There is no doubt that some Amish do abuse their animals, and those that do should be held accountable to the law. But in my experience, it is not the majority of Amish in our area. They care for their animals. And do not abuse them.
But do they retire those horses that they use, or do they simply disappear from your sight? Because what we see going through sales are reflective of the groups consigning them. That being said, a LOT of people push off their unwanted and no longer useful, but the Amish should be held to the same laws where abuse/neglect is involved. His comparison to a car and it's care to their livestock (no raised as food) begs to question where a car goes when no longer useful. As for the road horses being in great shape is counting on the average citizen not recognizing an unsound animal.
The benches had no cusions?.. Woman and Men sat separately?... Good grief lady. Did they preach The BLOOD and WORSHIP the Son of the Living God???
There are some that would debate this... they would debate that the word of Gid and the sacrifice of Christ is secondary to ritual and tradition.
So were the stairs with transverse traffic
Yeah there were people on the stairs but we were there early June and visitors were few
The inbreeding has gotten the gentic wiring crossed. The same feelings you have for your cousin or 2nd cousin then permeates when you marry them and then have children. The gentic imprint is all confused a d the feelings that ate stirred are jumbled. Hence why a Amish father is attracted to his daughter bore by his cousin wife. He cant differentiate. Sickening. Also the adultfication of children is abuse and mixing children interfrating with adult life leaves them suspect to abuse.
That happens far less than you might think. Obviously, anytime it happens it is terrible. But the Amish, at least in our area, have taken steps against this happening by accident, force, and the like.
Visiting any bakery is trouble but that one looks like big trouble!😂
If I lived there, I would have big trouble....or I should say my waist would be in BIG trouble.
@@kristenandscott tehe tehe and that’s about the size of it!
lovely ladys on the inside and out.
You are not wrong.
Thanks for the tour!
Not everyone cares about lounges when they travel...I just think they provide a more relaxing experience when you travel! Especially if you have a layover.
@@kristenandscott totally agree! I used to like them because they were quiet and I could read or get work done.
I am not familiar with Lounges . This was great info will have to do some research for us. Thanks!!
I will say this in retrospect. The lounges certainly make the airport experience more relaxing in general. In my opinion, worth it.
@@kristenandscott When we looked into the cost and then the fact you can get a more healthy meal wow. This is so neat !!
Mennonite
Actually they are Amish in Rumpringa who have not joined the Amish church yet... so technically I guess they would not be officially considered Amish yet, but they are definitely NOT Mennonite.
@kristenandscott Amish do not wear colors. I live by a very large community of both
@@kristenandscott Again, I know the differences well. These are definitely Mennonite.
@@kristenandscott I assure you I do know the difference.

@@kristenandscott I can assure you that I am well aware of the difference.
You capture great images! I feel like I went too!
Well, that is the goal...😀 just curious, have you traveled outside the USA?
@@kristenandscott yes, I gave up most travel after 9/11 and being on the road for over a decade. I made one major trip to Asia after that, came home after almost a month and have been happy to visit the Jersey shore since.
Love your frames! So unusual. Omg Starbucks? I had more faith in you! Starbucks around here is like cup o’ sludge!😂
Lol. Sorry. What is your go to cup of coffee?
Yep Scott only buys Starbucks.
@@hertzoghomestead honestly I used to drink a lot of coffee every day and one day just decided it was too much so I switched to water. Now if I’m out I get a Dunkin’ Donuts coffee with oat milk. Otherwise I make a decaf at home but I’m down to like 3 cups a month maybe.
@GreenThumbGardener65 wow! Bravo...I am more like 2-3 cups a day.
@@hertzoghomestead somehow, I had that feeling! lol

Not disagreeing with you...
I remember this episode! It was awesome!
Yeah we rereleased it to coincide with the launch of the rebrand
Scott! You have the voice of a radio announcer or D-Jay! The start of this video proves it! Yay Keifer ! What a great kid! I’ve wanted to see the Eiffel Tower views. I’m so glad you did this because heights make me dizzy so not likely I would ever go up there!😊Thanks for another great travel experience!❤
Awe. Thanks you! That means a lot! I (Scott obviously) have been podcasting for 15 years so i have put it to good use. And Kiefer truly is awesome. Going up the Eiffel Tower really is not bad. Wide platforms and high railings. We felt pretty safe up there.
tone it down too loud
Will do
No more Shady Maple buffet or Yoders Sunday brunch? How could you!?
As a local, Shady Maple was a hard pass for me. I would take Yoders over Shady any day. And I would take Miller's Smorgasbord over both of those. If you have never eaten there, it's on Route 30.
@kristenandscott I've heard Miller's is a little pricey, but very good quality. I'll give it a try this fall. If you don't mind me asking a question, is the Friday Green Dragon market in Ephrata almost all professionals, or are there also plain folks (no pun intended) also selling their wares? Thanks
H3athrow express train.....runs every 10 minutes
Facts....because of where we were going ...we took the Picadilly Line
My city !!!! Good to see that you are back and have that feeling of comfort of someone who adopted the city...There is still a lot to discover in Porto alone...Greetings from Brasil.
Awe thanks. We absolutely LOVE Porto and have been there three times. We have only scratched the surface. And there is so much to discover in Portugal as well. Is there anything you think we should see in Porto that we missed? After all, we only had 48 hours...😏
@@kristenandscott Hello ! Yes, of course... I will then give you some suggestions; Foz do Douro with its beaches and terraces on the sand where you can have a drink or a meal, Matosinhos, a city next to Porto, like Gaia, with its fish and seafood of the best quality and freshness. The City Park on Av. da Boavista, the Casa da Música (House of Music), Fundação de Serralves (Museum of Contemporary art, its houses and gardens), Palácio de Cristal and gardens among other places .
Backwards…. I envy there way of life!!!!
It is weird that way...we envy the pace the slowness, but would struggles with the sacrifices to get there.
Oh that peanut sauce looks delish!❤
I would buy quarts of it if I could!

I must admit I started watching for the Mennonite content however I quickly realized how fun you two were and how interesting your lives are. So I stuck around for both of you. Don’t sell yourselves short! You are both really interesting people!

I love watching my favourite t-shirts such as my Wonder Woman and Minnie Mouse flap against the the wind, just a relazing watch.
In all seriousness, there is something oddly therapeutic about that.
Omg your Dad was a plumber! My Grandpa and all my uncles were plumbers! My grandfather had a shop in Cranford for years and years. My great uncle had a shop in Kenilworth. Then another great uncle was a builder so they all worked together building homes in kenilworth. ❤ My Dad was the only hold out he was a professional ballroom dancer! Amazing trip! I haven’t been to London in many years.
Yes. My dad was a plumber in Edison NJ all his life. He took over for my Grandfather who started a plumbing business in the 1940. Unfortunately, none of my brothers were interested so in 2015 my father's plumbing endeavors closed. Wow! You dad was a professional ballroom dancer? That is so cool. I love to dance; unfortunately, my husband is a reluctant dancer at best. He is too self-conscience.
@@kristenandscott Scott self conscious? Oh I’m laughing! Just go and have fun! Everyone is trying not to trip! No one’s watching! 😂
You should travel to places in Canada 🇨🇦
Oh we will... when we do, do you have suggestions?
@@kristenandscott Well I live in Ontario but my husband and I went to the east coast and visited Nova Scotia and New Brunswick .We had planned on going to Newfoundland but had run out of time. I would definitely recommend you going there❤️
