Water. Without it, all living things we know would never survive. Finding and collecting water in a hot, dry, arid country is a challenge. One the early pioneers didn't shy away from, with different methods used to collect water. Join us on our trip to document tanks that were blasted into granite to store water along the No.1 Rabbit Proof Fence adjacent to the Lake King district, in Western Australia's eastern wheatbelt region.

    The Names of these Tanks are proposed for now. I will eventually put a submission to LKPA for approval, then approach our local council. Lake Grace. After that the GNC. So atm I propose we call Reserve 9968 Rhodes Tank, in recognition of the Rhodes family, Dusty, Les and Thora.... Water reserve 9926 Toleman's Tank, after the family of Bill (Battery Manager), May, and daughter Thora... Water Reserve 13527 Curry's Tank, after Bill and Rita and two sons Chuuby and Athol. Rita wrote about her recollections of carting water from this spot, whilst at HH. Along with her two sons they would picnic here whilst filling tanks. She very much enjoyed this spot.....Water Reserve 8392 Penny's Tank, dubbed by Phil Bianchi OAM, in recognition of our work.... Water Reserve 9925 Purchas Tank, after John Purchas the first miner at Mt Agnes Reward, using a 3 head Stamp Battery in 1902....

    This Gnamma was measured using the plate on a North South, then East West Plane. The East plane had a measurement of 1025ml at 60 degrees angle ,, Cavernous!!
