Rebuilding a Daiwa EXC 661 & 701 MHFB 1/4-1oz. 10-20lb. medium heavy graphite blank rods that need to be stripped down to have the reel seats replaced. Royal PITA but I already own the rods and they are super sensative too so totally worth it IMO. Plus I'm learning something cool to know "thumbs up"

Cat won't ever let anyone get close to it so the best I could do is give it water and food. Its been slmost two weeks now and she seems to be more mobile and might have a fighting chance.

Hey did you ever find out what the main issue was?
Cool Beans Br0!
My boat started becoming hard to crank and when putting it in gear it would die. Well I noticed it used to take me 2 to 3 pumps and my bulb would get hard and stay hard well latley i had to pump it over and over and when it would get hard it would get softer randomly. This is exactly what it was doing and I'm replacing it today. Defiantly no good
Sounds like bent push rod.
Do you have any tips on removing the clutch? I'm not getting oil flow to the upper tubing for lubrication of the gears and guessing that it might be that the inlet to the pump is clogged.
I guess I'm going to have to remove the clutch to see what's going on. I assume that I just need to unscrew the long brass tupe going up to top of headstock before pulling the clutch off. Is there anything else?
right at minute 3:17 in your video your finger points to a screw that is supposed to go into the red piece that you said moves around freely. I have a different problem with mine. I don't think the oil pump is working at all. I unscrewed the long tupe that goes from the red piece to the pump and don't see any oil coming from the hole where it threads in. Also, I measured the location of the port on that long piece to the mating port inside the red piece and seems to not line up. the hole on both caps are clear but nothing coming out. Did you disassemble the pump or have any ideas about that? I'm just starting to dig into my Model B.
I did not disassemble the pump. I had to pull the pump out to repair the oiling tube from the pump to the headstock gear bearings.
Thanks this was very helpful for me.
You actually said "I don't have that many rods" Really? Nice set up for the few rods you own...
Thank you :)
Trim off the dip stick until cap will fit. What oil are you using in the tiller
For a low speed lathe like this you get a better cut using high speed steel cutters rather than carbide.
There are So Many helpful Techs on CZcams for your help on this problem. Watch them... The sequence of operation is Very important to this heater running. Read and Get an understanding of your service booklet. The 4 flashing lights Really is helpful. I could not see the main burn come on and stay on for at least 2-5 minutes. Once that happens then your circulating fan should start. If it doesn't then check and measure your Capacitor to see if it is in Range. If it is then check for a binding motor, or it might be bad. It is to your benefit ti invest in a good multimeter and other hand tools which can be used for every thing you own. Study, learn, and Help others.
U have a bad motor bud it also sounds like something may have got stuck in the blower and is binding it up
It didn't fix the problem?
Any further news on this John Deere and what you wound up doing with the engine?
Hi Shannon, No I have been taking my time figuring some things out. The engine for this is toast. I think the previous owner had it rebuilt by JD and they sent the motor out for machine work and the cylinders appear to have been bored over to big causing all kinds of blow by issues leading up to the fire under the hood. I'm no expert and don't have the best tools for determining this but with the tools I have that is the conclusion I made. Early this past spring I sold a 317 with a front 54" 4 way snow plow, 46" mower deck and rear 33 tiller with extension and used that money to fund the purchase of a JD 332 with several other goodies like a little buck loader, 30 hydro tiller with 12" extension, rear 2000 RPM PTO, homemade 3 point hitch and two home made rear 3 pth blades as well as a couple of JD suitcase weights. I have a JD F935 that I have not messed with lately and am thinking I could get that going and sell it to fund purchasing a 455 diesel tractor that I can use all the implements that I got with this tractor. Or the F935 has the same engine that comes in the 455 so I could always do an engine swap. I'm just not sure what would bring me more value. 455 tractors can be kind of costly so converting this 445 to a 455 might be the more cost effective option. For now I'm just sitting on it until I get some other stuff cleaned up and out of my yard. So many projects and so little energy to do them all. Thanks for the interest.
While it's running does the heads , side of the pistons or the exhaust cover get crazy hot while on the hose ? If not then investigate the sensors , make sure their holes are clean and use the correct grease while I can't remember off hand ! If they do get hot then you might need to remove the engine unit complete and check the water intake passageways !
Are these the ones near arch that kept going for 20 mins? Lol
something like that.
Great Idea with the cotter pin! I am dealing with the same issue, copper tube is not attached inside behind the clutch
Easy fix with minimal complications.
That's .001" not .002" It's a .0005" graduation indicator
Cool
Looks good!
You'll want to check if it has the Plastic Cam. If it does, now is the time to upgrade to the Metal one. If it has the Metal one you're good to go. The Plastic ones fail on these Engines. I would also do all the Seals & Water Pump.
The Metal Valve covers are an upgrade. They are not stock, but definitely do it. The stock Plastic Covers, warp with the heat of the Engine and leak. Causing Oil to leak onto the Plugs & fowling them out. They are however a bit pricey. One side will have the fill cap. The other will not. E-bay will be the best place to find replacement Parts. Used most likely. Unless you can find old stock, which you will pay a premium.
Thank you Steam Boat Willie :) I have a cast aluminum valve cover in my cart on eBay for $20.
That looks to me to be in great shape. Quite the collection of tractors N2. I’m on my way with a trailer to take a few off your hands! 🤣🤣
Not sure where you're coming from but bring a big trailer :p and a big wallet :)

Thank you :). I still needed to do the drivers side bracket but got lucky and found some factory seat brackets in the junk yard so these are not going to be used after all.
Change the(tps) Throttle Position Sensor
Engine is toast. I was experimenting with the IAC valve to see if it was contributing to the problem but it was not the problem. Turns out the engine is shot. Leak Down Test confirms multiple cylinders have compression leaking past the piston and rings into the oil passages and crank case.
Parabéns muito bom mesmo Deus abecoi asu vida amei todos escritos amei 🤔😲😃👏👏👏👍👍
