Sony FX6: Insane Eye Autofocus for Animals
I went out to the barn to shoot some slow motion footage.
The "focus" (pun intended) was to test the touch-tracking autofocus of the FX6 on horses using a WIDE ANGLE Lens. And well, it blew my mind. The way it tracks dark, nearly black eyes on an also nearly black body, is just insane. But see for yourself.

I´ve found the cheapest Cine Lenses from Zeiss and adapted them to my Sony FX6. The Zeiss CP.2 50mm T1.5 and 21mm T 2.9. Each used costing around 1.600€, these lenses are still not cheap, but significantly cheaper than any other Zeiss Cine Lens. There is definitely some issues with your Contax, or most likely the adapter. I have both (but my Takumar is the super multi coated Takumar) and I don't see that much difference in sharpness between the Takumar and the Contax.
The test footage at the end of the video is really excellent. Did you happen to use any filters during filming? If you did, what kind of filters did you use? I'm curious if this look was achieved without filters.
Hey there! Thank you so much. :) Really good eyes you got there. I've used the Black Mist Filter (1/2) from K&F Concept. The simple reason is that Zeiss lenses tend to be very sharp and I prefer a more diffused, dreamy look. :)

Ive always had trouble wrapping my head around cloud formation and the airflow over mountains.....this video solved it in less than 5 minutes! Absolutely amazing. From the first shot it grabbed my attention and the second blew me away! Most timelapse videos pan the frame, or only really utilize slides, maybe cranes...but the first shot is obviously actually moving the camera (like a crane would, which was indeed interesting, showing more effort than simply punching into a high res image and panning the viewport)....but that second shot.....timelapse of coming around a mountain....at altitude....HOLY SHI....HOW?!?! Just.....how?!.....Friggin amazing.....

@@RobinSeifert Yeah but you used a slider AND rotating the camera head (and it looks like some zooms in a few bits), which a lot of other time lapse videos barely achieve a single plane linear slide. Its the parallax that really shows its not just a simple pan in post, and required more thought to the sequencing than 'set intervalometer, set slider motor on low, have a sandwich'. It really sells the scale of the shot. The shot around the mountain still blows my mind, like is it just a trick of the lens? Because it almost looks like a drone shot, except time is whipping by.... LoL Definitely going to give that BTS video a watch. Anyhoozle, again, awesome work mate😎👍

What is the laser & what is its purpose??
I am assuming there was an LSO on site? I know it's not the states, and the FAA did not have to be notified, but there is almost no divergence! Who approves theses things? What precautions are taken to insure a pilots safety?
They have to file a NOTAM and at that point it's up to the pilot to enter the airspace. So yes the civil aviation authorities are notified and can object, same process in most countries. They also had an automated system to turn it off when aircraft approached, maybe flightradar or similar.

Apparently laser technology is evil. I guess according to geniuses like this I better start praying over my lasers, and rebuking coherent light.
Before you go thinking that this is an attack on the folks on the ground, be aware that there are many, many foolish people who are shining laser lights up into the eyes of pilots…for a “prank”. It can cause serious, deadly accidents. (Not unlike dropping rocks off of a highway overpass.). A laser light beam will be quite thin at its point of origin but widens out as it approaches the “target.” Where was the wider spread of light in this video? Up above. This video looks like evidence of a child (or truly stupid adult) fooling around with a laser light. I hope there were no planes overhead.

18mm Zeiss CP.2 is not usable on Full Frame. You see literally the barrel :)
