This was a while ago but still think it's funny.
Ohhh,Thank you, I kept rewinding trying to make out what she was saying.
He but understand. Lol
“ a ghostbusther”😂
How did you like this Trayno YCV50 compared to your Peavey Bravo? I know they are quite different. Does the Traynor Master volume work good for home playing?
Traynor was nice but wouldn't buy one again unless really good deal. Peavey was 150 bucks and really more I play it the more I like it! Only tube amp I own sold all my mesa boogies. Not that it's better then the mesas but they were heavy!! I use pedals mostly now with boss ir200 into a powered pa speaker. Bravo is awesome when I want to go straight into an amp and get great cleans and mid to mid high gain tones.
Thanks! I have a Bravo and love it as well. Think the YCV50 would be overkill for me at home anyway.
3:09 Sounds like Chuck. That was a fine video, thanks.
Just riding along in my automobile
You have the Bravo sounding really good. The active mids on the crunch channel sound great a little past 5. A sweet spot.
Thanks
Remove the pick guard screws and front switch screw, slacken the rear switch screw. Then slip a loose piece of kitchen foil under the pickguard ensuring it also covers the front switch screw hole. When it's clamped between switch and pickguard this will ensure it's grounded.
Thanks for tip!
So funny
It is now. Lol
The exact same thing happened to me man !!!! So disgusted that the pickups at this pricepoint fails within a few months
I have not had one go bad. Did have one that worked intermittently but did it from beginning and thought I had wired it up wrong. This one was bad out of the package and since my other ones problem checked it before wiring it up in another guitar.
I currently play an ME-80 into a Bose PA speaker and it sounds pretty decent. This would have to be a ton better though.
It's nice but first thing I have tried to run straight into a pa speaker. It's the only time I have been just as happy with this as an actual guitar amp.
Sounds much better with the Zoom! I'm a CP8 believer :D
Thanks
It was great to see someone actually demo this through a PA. I was on the tittering on this idea. But you make that Boss IR-200 sound pretty good through your PA rig. Great video and thank you for demoing 👍🏾🤘🏾🎸
Thanks does take some pedal tweaking if using it like I do. I can't just plug the same pedals into a regular amp as they are adjusted wrong. Reason to build a second pedal board. Lol
Nice review and a great amp!
Thanks
Do you often use the footswitch? Are the LEDs light immediatly when you plug it? Or does it depend on which channel is active according to the front panel channel switcher?
Sorry been a while since I had it.
Could you please compare with stock pickups
No do not have them anymore.
@@1vexed73 Can you just tell me the difference. It'got better?
@@pattyvanapat well the classics have great clarity and can do the paf then with pull of knob do hot rod paf tones and a pretty good single coil with a different pull of the knob. I remember the stock pickups being alright but not as good as they could be. HVe had it a while. Now I have a fluence fluff in bridge and a modern alnico in neck. Like them better. The modern in neck is creamier to me then classics and fluff is a great all around do everything pickup. Darker but still lots of clarity. Really goes well when using trans trem to drop down.
@@1vexed73 Thank you so much for your information
I turn off the preamp section and use my own. I dig the Celestion IRs. Put a delay between them I get great tones. It’s a high resolution IR machine. Glad I bought it.
Yeah I like it alot. I use the clean preamp but other then that I like my pedals.
@@1vexed73 yeah manufacturers know their stuff has to work with most other pedals…because we love our pedals!
I never use amps, I use a JBL powered speaker and I have a NUX Solid Studio connected to (2) powered speakers for stereo sound. IT SOUNDS AMAZING! Highly recommend this. Obviously you will need some EQ to tweak the sound duh…
I got it just because I love my pedals and seemed overkill to lug around an 80lb tube amp to use them. Also neater then cables running here and there. Still not a fan of higher gain settings with modelers. Do find the IRs are a game changer!
This is the way it should be connected. It is useless to plug the boss into an amplifier because it’s an AMP simulator. Why would you plug it into an amp to simulate another amp? LOL
You can turn off any section. You could use just the reverbs and eq if you so desire
If you run it through the clean section of your amp or through your effects loop (bypassing your amps pre-amp) and your amp can sound like anything (you won't need the IRs, because you probably already have a cab).
Man that thing sounds great!!
Very good presentation. Thank you very much!
Thankyou
Cool comparison, I pretty much changed all pickups in all my guitars to fishman. And own almost all models, which is your favourite?
Thanks. I like them all but right now digging the fluff. If you watch my last two videos about my new boss ir200 you will see it landed in a 2002 gibson SG supreme and it is a perfect fit. I find each set I have fits the guitar they are in and it just depends which guitar I into at the time.
Never testing guitar sound with distortion. Only on clean with amp tone control on "noon". With distortion all pickups sounds same.
Thanks for tip
How does the peavey Bravo compete with the Mesa ? In very familiar with Peavey amps in general as I've had em all dang near, but never Mesa, never liked en enough to spend that money.
Bravo is a nice amp but just not as pleasant on higher gain tones. The mark iii just has alot going on you can do so much with it. I really just like the bravo for clean and medium to low gain.
Have you tried a different cable ? That was the secret problem with my dad's fender bass, crap cable.
Cable was fine with all other guitars.
I'm having the same issue, every find a fix?
No just used a weeping demon wah and used the expression pedal for a volume pedal.
👍👍👍👍
Great Playing and Video/Tones! I have spent a lot of hours with these Amps, I upgraded the Speaker Baffles to Hardwood Birch, the Speakers replaced with Carvin Eminence 100 watt British Series , Upgraded Tubes, and Mercury Magnetics Transformers. These Modification's make a huge difference everywhere on these Amps. I currently have this Setup, 2 Modified 112 Bravos, with 2 2x12 Cabs. I run 2 MXR Eq's to the Effects Loops, with my Pedal Board, Tuner, Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster, Delay, Flanger, and Stereo out of the Danelectro 18V Cool Cat Chorus. Sounds Truly Amazing!
Thanks! Sounds like we need a video on yours!! It is a great anp.. cleans clean and alot of variation available on gain channel. Still rather use pedals for high gain but the almost clean to pretty dirty is nice.
Yeah ! Video please! I must hear the ultimate power Peavey bravo you rigged up ! Mine has the stock eminence legend 1258 that came stock in my bravo and it's never given me any reason to change the speaker because I like what I hear on both channels but I've got some killer speakers sitting here that I could try but I want to hear yours now scortchfield.
Man I love that pickguard! And the colour is gorgeous! But my question is - without the secondary circuit, is it really a Jazzmaster? Same with the Bullet model. But go up to Classic Vibe and the missing electronics reappear. Edit: same question applies to the vibrato
Personally the bridge/tremolo along with proper jazzmaster pickups make a jazzmaster unique from other fenders. The extra switch turns on neck pickup with different volume and tone control. It's a cool tool but not a make or break jazzmaster. This is just a jazzmaster shaped strat with neck pickup in wrong place. Lol
But ultimately jazzmaster like the tele is in the bridge/trem!
@@1vexed73 Awesome! Thanks for the reply. I just looked on Amazon for paisley vinyl adhesive coverings but there was nothing...I will keep looking though
@@jonathanpeden9930 bought mine from hobby lobby
@@1vexed73 I'm in the UK we don't have Hobby Lobby or much of an equivalent so my search continues! But it is such a genius idea of yours I hope you don't mind if I blatantly steal it lol I will of course give you full credit tho
I personally think the Nomad sounded clear and punchy. The second amp sounded muffled, as if it was amped by a mic with a heavy sock over it
Sounded to me like too much presence on nomad? Of course just a cell phone video. I do remember liking the dual rec better but nomad was still a great and capable amp!
I have a silver stripe bandit from the 90's, best combo amp I've ever owned. The clean and the low distortion channels are very good. I use the low gain input for humbucker guitars. Most people don't know what the t-dynamics knob does and set it at 100%. It mimics tube amp compression when it's set at a low %. I'm keeping an eye out for a red stripe with a sheffield speaker.
I also have a Silver Stripe and I love it! The T-Dynamics knob is amazing. You can get good breakup at lower volumes. It sounds very close to a tube amp in my opinion and I'm never getting rid of it. The clean channel is wonderful and I absolutely love channel 2. It can sound somewhat like a Marshall with the right settings. I'd love to have a red stripe too, which is what led me here. Bandit Club unite!
WAIT THE PICKGUARD IS GORGEOUS WHERE DID YOU GET IT PLEASE
It's just a vinyl cricket thing I got from hobby lobby
Nice! Are you still liking the Stelly in the bridge? Sounds Way fatter and warmer
Yeah its a great pickuo for getting a bit of yele growl without getting to close to humbucker sound.
I've got a Peavey red stripe, nice amp but everything on the gain channel seems almost too flange-y to me. I may trade it in, I'm looking for more of a classic crunch type of distortion.
I am a big fan of the friedman BE-OD deluxe and a boss sd1 can get any sound I need.
@@1vexed73 Thanks for the information. By the way, you play very well.
@@danielhartin7680 thank you!
You got JJ tubes in her?
No think it's still the stock tubes or soveteks didn't see any writing I could make out.
@@1vexed73 I really love these little amps. I have two now...a grey one and a black one.
Very cool demo. I have two of these classics. Very fun amps to do speaker and tube swaps with for sure.
Yeah great tones play it more then my mark iii lately.
Great demo. Awesome guitar and tones
Thanks so much
Hello! What is your opinion on this speaker?
Good all around speaker that is very light weight and can handle alot of watts by itself.
Thanks for posting this. If this thing sounds that good with those pedals I can only imagine what it would sound like with higher end pedals. Just found one on CL for $250. Hopefully its still 4 sale.
Thanks! But the sd1 and delay are great pedals! Metal zone I did take out a couple things and made it sound better to me but beod deluxe sounds good in it too. Have another video with it.
I can't see me. Other video is on the hawkman hawks channel.
Man that screams!! Awesome tone!
Highly recommend for anyone looking for an 80s Marshall sound in a small amp. Made to jam with a bass player.
Damn! How’s you get your reverb to be so good?
Standard peavey spring reverb
@@1vexed73 I think my op amp chip must be the issue.
@@pontiaclemansgt I am guessing you have checked reverb pan? Usually where most reverb problems spring from.
@@1vexed73 hahah where they spring from.
That's the reverb I get in my bravo.
How you like the Alternative 8 in the bridge? Still using it? Im gettin one for my Gibson LP Trad Pro. I have an Alnico Slash set which sound thin and bright af.
It's hot and thick. I like it but definitely sounds better in strat guitars but does sound good in les paul too. I have switched to fluence pickups in moat of my guitars now another bridge pickup I like is the dimarzio breed.
Aw shit !!!!
How are you all there MAY I ASK HOW TO DO GUITAR SETTINGS I BELIEVE THAT IS SO CRUCIAL INFORMATION THANKS YOUR KINDNESS GOD BLESS YOU ALL THERE
Hopefully someone else will come along been a while since I had this.
geez calm down
bro I swear you've got one of my all time "dream rigs" a EBMM L3 shadow gold through a mesa mark v! and it sounds amazing. great job dude please upload more videos.
I actually got rid of both last few weeks. Always liked my blueberry L3 best and now have a mark III combo recently recapped by mesa. Not as easy to dial in but like the sounds I am dialing in better.
Nice amp , thanks.
Sir. What cabinet are you running through? I might of missed it if you said it. It sounds good to me and my ears.
Think it was an Epiphone so cal 4x12 cabinet. Do not have either anymore.
@@1vexed73 Ok. It sounded great.
@@jamesnorton7601 yeah it did. This was in my barn so didn't get played as much as the mesa mark V in the house.
@@1vexed73 I'd like a MarkV. But too much dough. Laney IronHeart 60, Diavlo45, EVH el34 50 W, or the Victory Kraken 50W. Just cant decide. You have any experience with any of those
@@jamesnorton7601 I love the evh 5150 just as much maybe more then the mark V. I had a 6l6 version but had the older version without concentric volume/gain knobs and volume jump between the two channels that shared it was a bother. If it had been a newer one I may have gotten rid of the mark. Not any experience with the others except Diiavlo good for money but not on same level as EVH. Orange rockerverb is really nice but only 2 channels and expensive compared to EVH.
