My mom used to listen to Ken Spyder Webb in the morning before she took me and my sister to school. Brings back memories because she would have the radio on and me and my sister would be eating breakfast while getting some cartoons in before school. Those from New York know they used to show cartoons on weekdays before you went to school. It’s not like today where they show all this news stuff.

Wow, this is part of the soundtrack to my childhood. I was instantly transported in time by the WWRL air checks. My grandmother had this station on as well as WLIB in her home . I sat in the car with my mother, while my father took my brothers into the barbershop for their haircuts, traveling in the car with my family on road trips, Such memories, beautiful, beautiful memories. Life was so much nicer then. Thank you for sharing this.

Every once in a couple of years I bring myself back here to not only listen and reminisce to and about my all time favorite idol, the chief Rocker Frankie Crocker, but also to further comment and elaborate on how much this man (My King) influenced and changed my life forever and for the MUCH better. There will never, and I repeat, NEVER be another Frankie or even anyone near the same ballpark. I was very fortunate, lucky, and grateful to experience ROYALTY on the radio. Love and miss you so much, Frankie!! ❤️

In the summer time, in the Bronx no school running the streets all day, playing Paddle ball listening to WBLS best time 4to 8 and at 8 Frankie would play his anthem every body out there knew the words by heart! Good times.

I remember back in the day coming from Cambria Heights Queens going to Manhattan on the E or F train to get fake ID on the duece to sneak in the LQ or the Funhouse Webster Hall those were the days 80's were great 👍

Shyt we were up in CT,in Elm City blasting BLS as we called it from the 70's To The 80's before I left for the military,,,had ppl/family send me cassettes of BLS and Kiss while I was in So Cali, plus they had no radio stations in SD except one day on Sunday for a few hours and it was done out there,,,at that point slapped a cassette in of BLS and pumped it Up 👏🏿...✌🏿
