If you recognize your sinful condition and want God's help and forgiveness, you might pray something like this:
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that I can do nothing to save myself. I believe that you came and lived a sinless life, yet you willingly died on the cross as payment for my sins. I also believe that you rose again and are now seated at the right hand of the Father. Lord Jesus, please grant me godly sorrow that leads to repentance. Forgive me, fill me with your Spirit, and help me to live a life that is pleasing to you. I ask this in Your name. Amen.

Thank You Donna! I love reading the word with you! I find it so interesting that in 1947 the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in a cave by the Dead Sea. The entire book of Isaiah 20+ feet long was found 😳 and today’s Hebrew version of the book of Isaiah is the exact same as that ancient copy. The LORD has preserved His word for us. Amen!
Yes, it is amazing, isn't it! But then God who wrote the Word, created the world, changes dead men into those who are alive in Christ, and so much more, can certainly preserve it!

I had a problem at church last year. Ended up being a misunderstanding. Took me a year, but I finally went to my sister in Christ to work it out. Kept on hearing “Be reconciled to your brother (sister) before leaving your offering”-so I did. She was great about it.

Recently my husband cautioned a group of men about a popular movie that is filled with profanity and gory violence, not to mention nudity and raunchy sexual references. He told them that he has not seen the movie nor does he want to based on what he has heard and that as followers of Christ we should try to avoid that type of entertainment. Let’s just say, he wasn’t praised for that comment. Donna, were you reading from ESV today? Usually my ESV Bible pretty much follows word for word but not today the OT and NT were not matching up. The Proverbs and Psalms did match up 🤔

Hope. A better translation is expectation. Trials, tests. Ecclesiastes 1:13: It is an experience of evil Elohim has given to the sons of humanity to humble them by it. There are two main gospels. The most correct cutting of His word is that between the gospel of Jesus and the gospel of the risen Christ and the two radically different gospels are NOT to be mixed because doing so just causes chaos and confusion and brings great joy to Satan. Basic differences: Jews Gentiles, forgiven justified, law grace, terrestrial celestial destinations.
Biblical hope is a sure thing, more than an expectation I believe. And according to Galatians 1, there is only one true gospel: 6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel- 7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

Hi Donna, again this reading spoke to me. What do I do with my grandson who does not know God. My daughters have left the church. Yet they say they still believe in agod and speak to Him in prayer. I do try to encourage them to always pray to Him. I loved where you said- our conscience is part of Gods grace in our lives to let us know when we are going the wrong way. It’s so true and that He speaks to us through our conscience. Thank you for explaining what was said. Have a Blessed day.
It's hard when people we love either don't know God or don't seem to be walking with Him. The most important thing is to pray for them and look for opportunities to speak the truth without saying things constantly. It sounds like your daughters know the truth but you can pray that they will completely surrender their lives to Him. I'll be praying for you and your family.

Fun fact to share……1Chronicles V10 mentions Nimrod - the first on earth to be a mighty man. I find it interesting that the name Nimrod became a slang term for someone who is foolish and was popularized by Bugs Bunny, who used it to refer to Elmer Fudd, who was a hunter. Maybe the people at Looney Toons had some theology in their background 😉
