All the three houses that left Bonny to form Opubo-ama (Opobo) are Ijaw houses. Some Opobo people could use the Igbo language to trade, just for the singular reason of trading with the Ibos, and nothing more. Some Kalabari-Ijaws could use the Igbo language for trading with the Ibos, but the Kalabari-Ijaws quickly stopped the practice, after the Kalabari-Ijaws saw the effect of that practice in Opubo-ama (Opobo).

Some years back i was in Europe and i heard a song, and i was asking the guy beside me do they play Yoruba song in Europe, and the guy said no that that the song was from Brazil. If you go to Brazil thousands of miles away from Nigeria you will see the similarities between them and the yorubas. We and the edos share borders, yet zero similarities. Nothing in common, not even in language, culture or food. Even come you cannot hear. We the Aniomas have nothing to do with the Edos.
