My husband and his twin brother were abused by Catholic priests in England in the 1950s. My husband always had anger issues and my sons and I bore the brunt of his rage and mood swings. He never told anyone until one day there was a show on tv about Priests abusing young boys. My husband went into a rage and told me about his abuse. He didn’t go into detail except to say that the Priests abused “every” altar boy. It changed who he was as a man and he struggled a lot in life. He was the older of the twins and always was his brothers protector. I felt like he thought that he let his brother down as he couldn’t protect him. He said he could never tell his parents as they wouldn’t have believed him as his parents looked at the Priests like Gods. He turned totally against all religion.
