#81 Flight March 18th 2024 Another beautiful day. Second day this year, with no wind and decent temperature. Changed my plugs to a cooler plug, hoping to lower my CHT. It seemed to help, but the engine did not seem to sound or run right in the mid RPM range. I went to Table Mountain, but felt uneasy about the engine, So I cut the trip short, and stayed up at a higher altitude, just in case something bad happened. It was 74 degrees in the air, Smooth air at ground level, got a little bumpy higher up. This was just a 29 minute flight. Edited down to 13 minutes. Traveled about 20.5 miles.

#79 Flight Jan. 29th 2024 Third flight flying the new “D” wing. First flight of the year. Testing the center of gravity. Finally the way I like it. Took it out for a bit more flying, than just for the test. It was 70 degrees out. CHT running about 260-280. EGT running about 900. This was a 17 minute flight. #78 Flight Dec. 23rd 2023 Second flight flying the new “D” wing. Last flight of the year. Testing the center of gravity, and the newly installed gauges. Only one camera set up and working. Quick trip around the field. This was a 9 minute flight. Edited down to 3.5 minutes.

The three flights (his 2 and my 1) were short. This was an 8 minute flight. Edited down to 6 minutes. Still shots included for some reference.

#76 Flight Oct. 31st 2023 Just flying around the Afterbay and going over South Table Mountain. Smooth air, and flying alone. It was about 72 degrees most of the time. This was a 66 minute flight. Edited down to 20 minutes. Traveled about 44 miles.

#75 Flight Oct. 19th 2023 Just flying around the Afterbay at sunset. Almost a repeat of my last flight. Incredible smooth air. A really fun flight. Evan came out to fly with me, This time we could communicate, makes a world of difference. All the cameras were working fine this time. It was 88-91 degrees in the air, This was a 39 minute flight. Edited down to 22 minutes. Traveled about 28 miles....

Evan came out to fly with me, we have not done that in a while, since he was back east for some time. This is just the chase camera, with no music. It runs until the battery died. #72 Flight Sept. 22nd 2023 Trip around the Afterbay area. Got the chase camera working, looks great. Official camera name is: DJI Osmo Action 2. It was 82 degrees in the air, real smooth air. Unfortunately, it was a smokey day. Flew with my hanger partner, but he went on his own, no footage to speak of. This was just a 30 minute flight. Edited down to 18 minutes. Traveled about 21 miles.

Don't know where the money goes, not in my pocket, and yes more to come. I still have 3 flights to edit, and I'm still flying when conditions are right.

Thanks for the video! We are thinking make something like this to push glider to mountain top (1-2 gliders). thinking about e-bicycle - as it is national park - no gas allowed. (or just regular bicycle ) the cart looks good!

It's an "Ultralight", it does not require an "N" number.
OK. It's not a real plane. In other countries ultralights have to be registered and have a tail number.
In the U.S. it falls under FAR 103 regulations, Do a search for AC_103-7

Did you find out the root cause of why the engine quit?
Yes, I had adjusted the carb to run a little leaner, which caused the engine to overheat and seize. I was watching the temp gauge closely in the beginning, and thought it good, got relaxed, and missed the rise when it was too late.

On-board video, with no indication of the overall configuration are not very informative. Yes it flies - so what?
If you know what to look for, it's informative... It told me a lot, and I made corrections.
Do you just move your hang point along the keel of the wing to adjust CG, like on a hang glider? I have no idea. I'm guessing a "D" wing is different than an A,B, or C wing.
You're right about the hang point adjustment, however it is hanging at the foremost forward spot, and is still too heavy in the rear due to additions to the rear (battery/starter). The "D" is just a nickname I gave this wing, because I have two now. Identical sail colors too.
Moving the seat/harness attach point on a weight for pitch aircraft does not change C/G. It only changes the hands/feet off neutral point in the seat/harness arc which the pilot perceives as more or less pressure in arms and or legs.
Sounds and looks good. We use the lead/acid battery to balance C/G.
Don (who got the wing from Mario) added a starter and battery to the rear, hence the need to add weight to the front.
I need to replace the fabric on my kasperwing. I miss flying it.

Been a fan of the Kasperwing since the 80's. I didn't know they were still flying.
There's 3 of them here in Oroville... another 3-4 flying in WA and a handful across the country.

I have a North Wing Horizon XT which is a beginner hang gliding wing. It won't stall, it also mushes.
Still photos and audio were best part.

I had a kasperwing a rogue testpilot my design incorperated over 9gs negitive and positive many pods that use steve geomtry simple half pod made out of aluminum identical to steve design with air ducting off the rotax fan cooling made for below zero flying for heating fantastic dream bird

One of my mods was a sail made of stitts cloth and painted that sat out and tied down in over 100,mlle winds lasted five years in Nevada was heavey but with a 277was great for soaring without the uv problems
