That's it for sure. I have yet to try the solution, but people say a heavy-duty gear oil like 75-140 cures this. The MC says you can use the same motor oil in all three holes but this is not true, especially on older models. My 2010 FLHTC 96ci has this same problem and it is LOUD.

My 2018 FatBoy makes the same exact whine when it reaches operating temperature.
