    are you sure this is chinese? the building and pagoda detailing was Japanese, because four sided pagoda was popular in Japan while it's not popular anymore in China since 9th century

    Cinnabar is made from resin and red mercuric oxide. It is highly toxic, and you should not handle it - or give others the idea that they can handle it - without protective gloves on.

    How marvellous to be an artist with, presumably, access to the best quality paints and tools. No hesitancy about experimentation due to inherent cost. Yet these material advantages are irrelevant if there is no vision and talent. And he has both these in abundance. Superb insightful work. Love, love his expressive mark making.

    No offense but you are in a bit of trouble when it comes to Japanese porcelain if you can not tell the difference between Dragon's and Shishi lol That is a killer vase though, the size and unusual palette, such a great colour combination.

      No, it’s perfect for small rooms. The rooms show off the beautiful mirrors and pictures. I think you would like it better in person. You can’t tell from here how detailed and beautiful the 18th century engravings are. The colors don’t show the way they do in person - I’ve collected some. It’s amazing the house hasn’t been destroyed through the years. Also, if you don’t like it, why do you comment to try to hurt people’s feelings?
