    Just switched to these this month- absolutely fantastic not to be spending an arm and a leg on products anymore. Between those and reusable discs (which work for me even with Endo), I'm spending so much less on period products. I'm truly wondering where these things were and why I didn't know about them for the past fifteen years of my life. Luckily as an EMT I'm not grossed out by blood. These pads are so much more comfortable than the disposable ones were.

    • @xx_yungbeener_xx
      @xx_yungbeener_xx Před měsícem

      wait but like I have a question.. for example if im in school and need to change my reusable pad do I HAVE to wash the used one first?? because if I just put the used one away, I feel like the blood would harden and be tough to wash out. What do you do when changing the pad out of home?

    • @headshot_hermionegranger7401
      @headshot_hermionegranger7401 Před měsícem

      @@xx_yungbeener_xx personally I store it in whats called a wet bag for a day. It'll keep the blood from getting out/ getting onto anything it shouldn't, and delays it from drying and hardening. You don't have to rinse them immediately by doing this. If it does harden, you can wash them with hydrogen peroxide, soak them in water with dilute (I'm talking 1tbsp per gallon of water) ammonia, or take other measures like that to get the dried blood out.

    Oh and another thing the Amazon cloth pads are about as breathable as the disposable ones (basically not at all breathable). Ones that are handmade by makers are for the most part way more breathable depending on the fabrics used. i live in Florida and I find that materials such as pique, or athletic wicking jersey, or even just cotton Lycra are so much more breathable than the disposables or Amazon pads ❤️ If you haven't already I encourage you to try one or two by small businesses so you can feel the difference for yourself

    You do realize that disposal pads are the ones that aren’t breathable right? The majority of disposables are made of plastic vs cloth which by definition (assuming natural fibers) is breathable. Cotton absorbs and therefore makes you feel wetter when you sweat because the liquid stays sticking close to your body, as opposed to synthetic fibers that repel water and “wick away” the sweat. That is why cotton shirts and “wicking” shirts are different. I assume pads typically don’t feel wet because of how fast blood drys, its makeup is entirely different so it behave accordingly

Trusting the brand I assumed they would make it without those ingredients considering that’s what I ordered. Nope it had silicones and sulphates in it. I emailed them for a refund and never heard back from them. I even paid extra for sooner shipping.

    Did you used the same set for 3 years? If so, i'm impressed. Its personally so hard to not keep on purchasing pads of different designs/materials (although i'm broke). I've just made the switch to cloth pads last month and i got a set of 6 regulars and 6 liners that look just like yours (typical "cheapies", just different pattern) and i keep having to stop myself from buying new/different ones! I have a couple minky cloth pads in my cart rn idk whether i should buy them since i already have enough for my cycle 😭

      They are so nice for heavier days! I feel way more secure In the reusable pads. For disposables I go through 2/ day on heavier days and for the reusable pads I can go the whole day. The mink pads sound like they would be very comfortable but I would imagine they would be a bit hard to clean. I would read the reviews if they have any.

    Just an fyi... Menstrual cups don't work for everyone. If you have endometriosis, fibroids, a tilted uterus, uterine or bladder prolapse, scarring from giving birth (for people who get stitches), etc. these types of things can make cups uncomfortable or painful. If positioned wrong or with bad posture, cups can also contribute to prolapse of the uterus over time. Some people love cups and swear they saved their menstrual lives, but they aren't for everyone. It just takes some research and considering your personal health situation.

    • @amsfrazier
      @amsfrazier Před 3 lety

      Yes! Also, something some people don’t know is that you can be accustomed to using a cup for years and then your body reject them. I actually JUST experienced this and it ended up giving me an infection because the cup was giving me so much issue that it kept forcing itself out but with that said, I do have a low cervix, a vaginal wall condition that my walls are too weak and can’t carry a child so I imagine that may be part of why the cup suddenly wouldn’t stay in (hence why I can’t have a baby biologically) and I have noticed my body is very sensitive to things (I was never able to use tampons because my body rejected them and I prolapsed twice at 18 years old) but I also have endometriosis as well. I am new to cloth pads and just started by ordering quite a few of them a few days ago because of the cup not working for me anymore. It honestly could be just me hitting my 30’s and my body changing so I’m hoping cloth pads work for me. I bought menstrual underwear to wear with them so I don’t leak :)

    • @leanntan3229
      @leanntan3229 Před 2 lety

      True, i love all the benefits of menstrual cup but after 6 months of trying. It just wasn’t for me, it didnt leak but i found it uncomfortable sometimes. Sometimes it works great sometimes it doesnt. I just decided to give up and use pads. I have a super high cervix but either the cup is too short or too big till it’s uncomfortable.

    I bought the highest absorbency black high waist and hip hugger. I decided to yolo on my 2nd day which is my heaviest, and just wear the underwear all day. I was amazed. I did notice wetness on the bottom of the crotch area at the end of the day, but it didn't stain my pants. I changed them and slept in another pair that night & nothing leaked. Life changing for me. Maybe try buying the black ones if the discoloration of the fabric bothers you.

    • @webworldgirl4341
      @webworldgirl4341 Před 3 lety

      Hahaha that’s so funny. I don’t know if I could go a whole day, I was scared to just go a few hours with them on. I think it’s more an issue of feeling secure, with a pad I can tell if I need to change it soon but with the underwear I couldn’t tell if it needed changed or if I was fine. Also I was worried about the smell with it leaking to the other side.
