To answer your question on aliens- I believe aliens exist 100% if you are include microscopic aliens (such as bacteria). Comets in space already had these discovered in them via samples, indicating even random rocks in space can have these. Intelligent aliens, though like humans on the other hand a whole can of worms. I think there is about a 75% chance a caveman-like civilization has existed but went extinct or will go extinct before our level (aka they are chimpanzee to caveman in intelligence). This is following the drake equation when being conservative and giving low odds. Even with low odds, the sheer number of possible habital planets and time scales gives around 4-5 intelligent alien species in our galaxy. And, I think there is about a 55% chance there is at least 1 other civilization in our galaxy akin to us when building off the Drake equation. The chance is low because of the low probability to achieve such a level before going extinct. It's almost 99% likely that we will never actually make contact if this is the case, though. And by the time we make contact, one of our species will probably already be extinct. Hence ideas like the great filter and stuff. It'll just be us discovering fossils typa "contact". Sooo... 100% Chance of Bacteria in space. 75% Chance of Chimpanzee to Caveman intelligence aliens in galaxy, but they'll go extinct before they get to our level. And 55% chance of a species like us in our galaxy. And a only miniscule 1% chance of making contact. These probabilies are given using #1 bacteria space samples, #2 drake equation, and #3 likelihood estimates. If there is one video able to make people see that war does not solve anything, it is this one. the at least 13 centuries of religion and ideologies have ravaged the earth and the human race beypond imagining. I believe all forms of racisme stem from religion. If you teach theology you must realise that it is religion that teaches otherness and entitlement. I love hearing you say that you let students make up their own minds but hope you at least inform them that choosing religion and or ideology comes at a price. That price throughout history has been war. If you do not tell them no one will because the history that is accepted as canon hides this. You should not just teach them what happened but also what led to those things happening. Dont just say these people got invaded for instance by the Seljuks or the roman empire, but also acknowledge that in that case they were invaded by the religiously entitled peoples of another culture. That these empires did not expand into empty lands. And that people lived across the globe since before mesopotamia. This way they can learn not from only previous generations mistakes but even from previous civilisations mistakes. Every major empire was built on the blood of millions. Are you teaching to keep the status quo or are you teaching for a better future. you are in a unique position and could help the next generation to make a diffrence. Humanity needs to do better. We must look to the past to improve the future. But looking selectively and with bias is the reason we are still in the same boat as we have been for the last 10.000 years. Too few see our history for what it is. It is the narrative of the victors and not what happened. You have i my opinion a lofty occupation and a very meaningfull one if done right. Make sure they don't feel entitled to tread on the rights of others despite ideology/religion.
