I purchased this PLB for aviation and nautical applications in 2012. The advertisements all said that it was something that could be serviced and supported for a long time. I Tried unsuccessfully for years to find an authorized vendor to change the expired battery with No luck. Overall,I feel like I wasted my money on this PLB. I also Called your company directly numerous times and no one was ever able to provide a solution to my expired and dead battery; I don’t even recall anyone from the company being responsive to my requests.

Could not get this product to work. Have been unable to contact customer service by phone or email for over 2 weeks! I cannot recommend it.

This was easy to install on my life jacket thanks to this video. I was able to slow down the video speed and rewatch parts to better see the knots and proper packing techniques. This video was a super big help!

Seriously you guys I’m a huge fan of ACR but there’s no way I would buy this thing that’s way too complicated. I don’t even understand what they’re doing. Is this a one time installation into a lifejacket? Is this something you have to do after you test the antenna I can’t even imagine doing a test and having to do all this mess to put the antenna back. You guys have got a design something better

Looks far too easy to accidentally activate!! The button isn't even recessed and looks like it will activate even with the plastic cover over it.

Looks like form factor was intended to fit in a truck’s cup-holder. Just an observation.

More people need these things. A PLB is so important if you are out doing stuff in the outdoors.

App doesn't easily show stats / battery usage when connected for me. Tough to figure out the connection, make sure you are in wi-fi direct setting on your phone

I have a ResQlink and a question about testing. My device seems to be working properly and passes the self-test. I am also registered with NOAA. My question is, how are we supposed to know it's actually going to work? Is there a way to verify that this test signal was sent out. Is it recorded on some database? How are we supposed to just trust a flashing light?

But how do you know it's going to work. Shouldn't a "test" be a non-emergency ping that can be tracked through your regions database (NOAA where I'm from). I get the light, so I assume it's going to work, but it's not reassuring.

I just did a GPS test with my 410 plb. It shows me more than 31 miles away from my true location. Testing is great, but if you have no mechanisms to do something about failed or bad tests, what is the point?

ACR you guys should really feel if your CZcams channel with professionally filmed survivor stories. I would love to watch those and I think it would educate a lot of people about the beacons. You probably sell a lot more them and inevitably you would save a lot more lives. Your marketing people should really think seriously about it. I believe you said you rescued over 40,000 people go back to as many as you can get their stories, film it animated cut in photos of the area boats whatever make it interesting. do it.

Shame you can not switch the engine off with the fob on your wrist hence I am buying Fell Marine MOB+ Oops, Yes turns out you can turn the engine off with the wrist band by simply turning the fob off which acts as MOB.

For the life of me, I will never understand why people won’t buy one of these things. I do simple hiking around my house in the middle of Phoenix, Arizona and I carry mine with me. I’m always within cell coverage but you know what I’ve seen too many stories oh my battery was dead. I dropped my phone over the side of a cliff. I don’t care if you’re within cell coverage, you cannot depend upon his cell phone and the other thing with these beacons keep them clipped to your person, not a backpack if they’re clipped on your backpack in the backpack goes over a cliff those you know good.

By Nature I'm safety-minded, but up till about 8 months ago, I didn't even know what a PLB was. I immediately purchased an Ocean signal PLB1 and began to inform friends about this type of technological security blanket! Better to learn about this at 73 then never.

So, what does a "failed" test look like?

What if the activation strap can't be passed around the bladder? It appears I would have to manually activate it, for when inflating there won't be any pressure on the strap.
