LVAD AND ECG ARTIFACT, HOW TO PERFORM A PROPER ELECTROCARDIOGRAM IN LVAD PATIENT
In this video, we explain the issue of artifact generation in the electrocardiogram due to the presence of an LVAD. The device's oscillation generates noise in the ECG recording. By applying low-pass filters, we can improve the acquisition and interpretation of the ECG. However, some precautions should be taken when applying low-pass filters: pacemaker spikes may go unnoticed, and the measurement of QRS amplitude may be inaccurate.
