Fuji 23 and 35 f/2 and the Viltrox 56 f/1.4 for portraits on my X-T3. I carry those with a dummy battery and an Anker Powercore in my pocket for the X-T3. Keeps my slingbag light and i have enough battery power for over a month of use.

bro, i got the x-s20 and you can just adjust the fan speed and temp. lock so it wont overheat as much. ive been in very hot locations with my x-s20 and it didnt overheat once so please just buy one back again cause its a beheamoth of a camera

I had the XT20, which was the backup camera for my XT3. The XT20 is a similar size as the XT30ii, I’ve since replaced the XT20 with the XS20 which I’m really enjoying. As a starter camera the XT30ii is an excellent recommendation.

Would most of this also apply to the. X-T4? I have a x-t30 (first one) and I’m looking for a cheaper upgrade.

I already have your 35 f2 and the Sigma 56. That Sigma has such creamy boka, superior to vitrox AND sharp! Am getting the fx33 F1.4 today for my T5 and selling my Fuji 35 f1.4 . maybe get that cheap pancake, mixed reviews here

And for anyone who want to save some money: Fujifilm XC 35mm F2. Yes, it is made ouf of plastic but the optics are very good.

After over 50 years of shooting 35mm and 120 films, I got a Fujifilm camera for its retro look. There was just one Fuji camera available: the X-T30II with a kit lens. It took a month, and my trip (the main reason for buying the camera) was approaching, so I bought a backup camera, Fuji X-E3. Well, the T30 arrived a week short of my trip, and I have to say that the learning curve was a little overwhelming. I have shot fully manually all my life, so most of my settings were for manual camera control. I have to say that I can recommend it thoroughly. By the way, the X-E3 is also an outstanding little camera.

I’ve been looking at Fuji cameras and the XT30ii & XT4 have stood out to me the most. I mainly use my camera for travel / everyday use plus some automotive photography. Recently looking to get into portrait / studio maybe.. would either of these cameras be capable or not? I’m a Sony A6000 user so I’m not up on Fujifilms.

I have the 35mm but its the XC one, and it's an amazing lens too

A nice and not so expensive camera, indeed. I owned it. But the X-T50 has a better AF, has IBIS and in a few month the street price should be better than now.

My favourite lens that I own is the 33mmf1.4 although the lens I use the most is probably the 150-600mmf5.6-8

Imo 50-140 is a good beginner lens. Then graduate to GFX in a few months.

35mm 1.4 and 56 1.2 are fantastic

I take the 18mm f2,hugely underrated …..35 f1.4,just gorgeous ……50 f2 and the 90 f2…..

70-300mm and 16-80mm kit lens are fine on the XT-5. Lighter & longer.

your lens recommendation for beginners is spot on, I still have my 35mm f2 but moved to a tamron 17-70 after the 18-55.

I am thinking Fujifilm 18-135mm and 70-300mm and if I can pick one more one of the 35mm :)

I have gone from loving the 35mm f2 to it being my least favourite lens. For photos, it is fantastic, but for video, the focus breathing is so extreme on it, making it useless as a hybrid lens. The minimum focusing distance is also very limiting.

The best lens I have used in recent times was the 18mm, the 33 1.4 had (I say had because I have moved on from fuji) great character but overall disappointed by its sharpness in comparison to the 18mm or even the 35mm f1.4. The 56mm mk2 is fantastic but certainly wont keep up in faster paced environments the 16mm was brilliant but very very wide! The f2 fujicrons are great the 23f2 you need to be carful focusing close wide open, but ive taken some of my best photos with those f2's. The 23f.14 mk1 is a so so lens loads of character but certainly not the last word in resolution. If I had to take one lens out the bunch it would be the 35mm f2 in all honesty and the 50f2 deserves an honourable mention, people over look that lens and its a belter showing up the f.14/.2 in some cases and embarrassingly so for the price. its basically a mini 90mm

Can’t fault these choices both great lenses. Still regret selling my 18-55.

cool. Good decision by me. I got an XT-2 with the 35mm and XH-1 with the 18-55 as a fairly new initiate to photography and I find both camera's and lenses to be a real joy.

Had both of these. Definitely agree. Great lenses. Now just a fixed lens camera guy…for now.

Got the kit lens as well when I got the XT20 years back. It is a bit broken now as it was not weather sealed but now I would suggest the 16-50. after that the 23/1.4 mk1 was with me for a long time as my only lens.

Thanks for sharing. You gave me the push I needed to buy the 35mm f2. In my view the most underrated lens is the viltrox 13mm. I started using it for night street photography and Im just blown away by the image quality in low light. Love your channel. Keep it up.

Sigma 18-50 more than obviously

Only two? XF23 1.4 MkII and XF56 1.2 MkIi. Alternative: XF18 1.4 and XF33 1.4. Third lens then XF90 2.0. Alternative: Viltrox 27 1.2 and 75 1.2. Alternative: XF23 2.0 and XF50 2.0. Alternative: XF18 2.0 and XF 35 1.4. Alternative: XF16-80 4.0 and XF70-300. Alternative ….. and so on 😂.

I'd recommend the 35mm f2 and 16-80mm f4 to start with. I still use both most of the time.

That KIT LENS is SO underrated ! I shot a music video on that lens that has 87M views lol. XT30MK1 + the 18-55 Kit, whew ! Nice combo. And nice video man, subscribed !

even the xc 15-45 is great, very sharp at the wide end. stabilised too. tiny, cheap. quite wide with 15mm. just the aperture ring missing. I sold it already twice. and last summer bought it a 3rd time. even though I have 9 other lenses.

Great choices. I started with the 18-55mm F2.8-4 and the 35mm F2. If money is tight, get the XC35mm F2. Same great image quality, but half the price.

If I hadn't started to really want a true RF, I wouldn't of ever gotten rid of my XPRO 3. Such a great camera, especially with a 27 mm pancake lens.

For travel photography, I would suggest instead the fuji 35 f2 + the Tamron 18-300mm, wich makes for even more versatility at a much lighter weight overall. The important sacrifice here would be IQ, especially with the Tamron. But it is so much lighter. That said, never owned the 16 to 55, but I do own the 50 to 140 and this lens is just amazing, I am breathtaken sometimes by the images coming out of it, at 2.8 ! Just not good for travel. Alternatively, I could see someone rocking the 16 to 55, plus a 85 viltrox (not that much weight a very good IQ, past f2) for less range but a pretty portable set up.

Thanks for sharing! I agree with you in terms of 16-55, bit instead of 50-140 I can propose for the travel set-up 90mm fixed one. I own 16-55, 50-140, 33/1.4 Viltrox, 12mm Samyang and xf90mm now, on two bodies, x-h2 and x-t2. And during last trip to Japan it was a best setup ever for me, having 16-55 and 90mm on two bodies:) walked two weeks with them on me, and i still have my back with me 😂 unprecendented quality and convenience ❤🎉

This is the exact combo that I got when I came into the fuji system. The only difference is I got the original xt30 when it first came out. It is still my main camera for portraits and landscapes. The 35mm f2 is still my favorite lens too.

Using the XH2S as well and the same backpack. ;-) Regarding the lenses: I have never used either of them because I did not like zooms... the only zoom I loved so far is the 32-64 on the GFX system but this is another story. I usually travel with the new 23 and 56 -- sometimes also just with the 23 and 33. Have recently added the Voigtlander 18mm manual focus lens to my kit -- it is tiny but a 2.8. Probably, the 16 or 18/1.4 are better options to stay with AF and have some better rendering, but then I just loved the idea of having one single small and engaging lens (read: I need to drop AF and do the job myself). Happy shooting! PS: I may need to rent at least the 50-140. That focal length is not covered here, but I also like to travel light.
