They have said they are not well travelled in one interview, and this was their first time using their passports. Lily was disappointed they didn't stamp it :) So make sure you stamp them in Sweden !.... PS their Red Dirt girl cover is the most popular song on the channel by far

@@TheMuirClan that is a great song too. Our First Aid Kit have done a version of that song when Emmylou got Polar Music Prize. So when the Castellows comes to Sweden I hope they get a stamp and will do Red Dirt song with First Aid Kit.

I do love the Balkcom sister banter between songs. It absolutely shows their bond. Lily is a hoot and a half sometimes. Elly is pretty serious most of the time and Lily calls her big sister or sissy. Powell is so shy and grateful all the time - her Shreveport banjo joke is a gem. Great performers have great banter that connects to the audience like (Canadian examples) Jann Arden or BNL who put on a comedy show - that is exactly what Lily has said they do a few times. I love that spontaneity.. go with the flow.. work the Oklahoma 'mistake' song into the set cause it's great!!!

I'm expecting that when they tour with Little Big Town they will have consistent mixing. I was beside the speaker array for this show and the bass in the mix was a bit much :)

Hi Jim, this is my family home movie channel (the Muir family/clan) and it has accepted subscribers from the beginning . For background, I have posted my old 90's band songs, my family vacation videos, my original songs, my 80's looper covers, and also many other bands that I see. That includes the local and other bands I see and support (e.g., through bandcamp purchases, buying merch at shows or online, subscribing on BuyMeACoffee, or Patreon). For sure The Castellows concert videos are quite popular - I have bought a lot of their merch to support them at shows and ordered their CD online, and have brought my friends to 3 of their shows. Some of my Wet Leg concert videos and my edits of those have been most popular up to just a few weeks ago. Before Wet Leg videos my family New York vacation was the most popular video for a long time (we were acting out scenes from Madagascar!). Does my channel have low numbers, not really IMHO for "Rob's home movie channel" - people are really enjoying and tuning into the concert videos. On benefitting me. The channel just got monetized last month BTW (which means 1000+ subscribers and a lot of viewing hours). CZcams screen videos for copyrighted content and monetized content goes mostly to the publisher (The Beatles get revenue for the Come Together cover, Levon Helm for Hurricane, and the ladies for their Warner songs too) and there is some sharing with the channel (me). Mary Spender (whom I support on Patreon) did a good video on CZcams revenue sharing BTW. I do intend to support the band further with the channel revenue. I actually printed a summary of revenue to date to share with them at the Sarnia concert but they did not do any meet and greet like after other shows, so that did not happen. In Fort Worth Lily said I was a 'regular' and Shreveport she said I have seen them play more than their family members have. I will reach out again at the Georgia shows because I think that will be easier to connect in the small venues. Probably the channel will have $500+ or so CDN - less USD :) - by then to pass on to them. I hope they appreciate that. I did have some ideas for fundraising for any causes they support. In the note to The Castellows I was not able to pass on I shared the example of a donkey sanctuary on the Isle of Wight - revenue from band-themed patches and stickers are donated there by Jen H on Etsy because the band supports that cause. I aim to find out if there are any causes The Castellows want to support, like say Farm Aid, etc. - keep in mind this channel monetization is a brand new development so I have not figured it out yet. I have some other ideas to support the band. The ladies signed a Telecaster pick guard that I made into a CastellowCASTER with some other band-themed customizations. I may pitch that they sign CastellowCASTER guitars, and auction them off for charities (I buy and make the guitar, and they sign them). One possible charity I would like to support is Wounded Warriors. Because my brother was born with one arm but learned to play guitar by designing and building his own prosthetic pick holders I think that would be cool to support them. Another band I support Pacifica signed a guitar recently - I wanted to donate that to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation because the bass player Martina has Type 1. She does a great job promoting her monitors and injections really busting stigmas IMHO. But since they put my name on the guitar "Pacifica Loves Rob" I can't really donate that first one. I've emailed them about this idea and who knows ... maybe in the future. It's interesting and exciting that The Castellows videos have really taken off. Revenue is $258 up to yesterday and I'm sure I'll be able to put it to good use supporting the band. In the note I was not able to pass on to the band in Sarnia last weekend I noted that their unreleased songs don't receive CZcams revenue their or their publisher's way and that was another reason for me wanting to pass on what revenue comes from this channel now. @@Jim-bt9xd fortunately CZcams protects copyright holders automatically and benefits them when anyone posts or covers their material. It's better to give than receive so I'll do what else I can to support various bands with the channel revenue sharing 😊. Few are streaming my Pacifica, Surfragettes, Blu DeTiger and Beaches videos, so I'll keep buying their tee shirts and albums 😊 .. overall there isn't a lot of 💲💰 💵 in streaming for bands unless you have millions of views. Beato and Spender do some interesting breakdowns. Take it easy Jim 🤟
