Riding my Varg in the sandy whoops for the first time with Steg Pegz. I hate to say it... but "Game changer" for this type of riding.

Are these bikes water tolerant for PNW riding with deep puddles?

@@TheDirtyBirchTrails LOL, I'll take a wild guess. I don't know why they can't make emtb's water proof too. I guess if they had a gearbox, then they could be better sealed like the emotos. Both have an external shaft.
I noticed the boast about "more range" but they don't actually give you a number. They seem to love percentages though. 10% more of 25 miles is nothing to get excited about. But I digress. More is usually better than less when it comes to topping of the tank. But it's not like they managed to give you a bigger battery. It means they trimmed some of the raw performance out of the bike under the guise of "traction control" and claim it to be this wondrous new discovery. Great snake oil salesman! I do admit though, I wish my Alta had reverse on it. I can do crawl mode in map 4, but it would be nice to have walk assist where you can't whiskey throttle it on a ramp. I've ridden a Varg and they're great bikes. Maybe not great enough to displace the Alta, but if something were to happen to it, then I think the Stark would certainly be on my radar
@@timt1346 The power is definitely more controllable now as you can accelerate hard without just getting wheelspin which is great. But it does now does not have that wild rawness to it because of traction control. I prefer the power now in reality although I think it was more impressive before. Crawl mode is ok. It needs a more gradual curve IMO. Also I don't like how the wheel locks up in crawl mode opposite direction. Makes it harder to manoeuvre back and forward. Should just free roll instead and hill lock be initiated separately. Engine braking. It has taken away my free rolling. Now at 0 engine braking setting ( which I loved) there is noticeable braking. You can hear the motor regeneration. Before it was silent. It's still very easy to lift the front wheel at speed to pickup over something even in 45 HP. Battery range? I haven't noticed any improvement at all. I can only get about 70 minutes of moving time on the sand and limestone trails at 40kmh average. The bike displays about 1.5 hours on the timer which is incorrect. I'd probably revert to the original settings to get the engine braking to 0 if that was an option. Loves that feeling I would revert

@TheDirtyBirchTrails I don't own one, but got to ride the Varg back-to-back with my Alta on the original firmware. Pretty sure I would be happy with either Stark setup, but they're all still a bit off from any advertising claims.
I have a Alpha. But how to get a software update? By only updating the app?
Check the other videos. It shows a magenta or yellow light on bike.

It looks like to me whoever runs the marketing side of stark lacks experience or understanding of the current business practices. The main stark channel is an example of it.

Oh boy, i'm so excited. the crawl mode is something I miss on my Freeride E-XC so bad! I'm ready to switch bikes now...just waiting for a road legal version :D

Crawl seems a little quick for walking IMHO. Seems even the presenters felt it.
