Taking Pictures on iPhone - Film Photography Style
After being gone for 2 years, I want you all to know I am alive and well. I have been exploring different mediums as an artist but always find myself drawn back to photography. With film prices skyrocketing, I decided to find a way to emulate it on the camera I use most, my phone. Although I still love real film, this gives me what I need most days. Hope you all enjoy,

Awesome tutorial! Thanks for this! Maybe I didn’t catch it if it was said but the basic blue masks do nothing for the chemical vapor. Better have safety goggles than a thin blue mask. If you really want to be protected, use a 3M with the right rating.

Correct, but the mask is used to avoid ingesting chemical dust, which can go into the air as you pour the package contents into the water. Frankly, if you are so clumsy as to need googles from spills and splashing solutions, we just need to go digital.

@@randallstewart1224 I agree with you that a basic mask is good enough for small particles when you mix the formula. In regards of goggles, better safe than sorry. I’ve already seen too many people rub their eyes with their gloves full of chemicals… just wearing goggles saved them so even if it’s the most inoffensive chemical I recommend wearing them 😂

you're probably getting a wrong exposure meter because you've put lr44 or some different 1.5v battery inside, which has more voltage than it should be (1.35v). its giving more power to the needle making it swing up than the actual light value. this same thing has happend with me, and after some research i found out about this problem. Soulution is to use Power One Hearing Aid P675 battery which is close to the actual mecury cell of the OM cameras

Thanks for the tip on 'Negative Lab Pro'...I never heard of it. I have a mix of transparencies(35mm & 120mm) and B&W negatives...also in both formats. These are images I shot back in the 80's through 2000. Mostly commercial jobs with a mix of some personal work. I look forward to diving into my past. Since I have come from both worlds...film and digital - I appreciate the knowledge I picked up shooting film but after learning digital, don't really want to go back. I'm loving this digital world way better. Here's a tool you never heard of...look up tool made by Minolta. It's called a 'color meter'. Without this tool all my on camera color correction were in the direction of guessing. This tool took the guessing out of the equation and allowed me to dial in the color correction, with extreme accuracy - ALL THE TIME. FYI...I subscribed...you make nice videos.

If I’m being honest, I don’t really shoot film anymore ever since Kodak started to consistently raise prices. I still have bunch of film stock that I save for select projects! But I mostly use my Fuji x100V with film simulations now and love it. I edit digital too. Film is an expensive hobby that I just don’t want to spend money on right now. Couple of points: Water. If you live in an area with hard tap water, use distilled water to mix the developer to protect its chemical balance, and in the stabilizer, to avoid hard water spots on your dried film. The blix is so strong that you could probably mix it in flat root beer. Kits. Most kits are like here, a developer and a blix, which combines the bleach and fixer in one process step. A few use separate bleach and fixer steps, which is more like the real C-41 process (which these are not). The advantage of the three step process is that the process first has to bleach, then fix. When you mix those two chemical processes together, you run the risk of getting an inadequate result, particularly as the chemicals age and are reused. Stabilizer. Strictly speaking, a chemical stabilizing step has not been required of C-41 process films made in the last 20 years, and most "stabilizers" are just a wetting agent, like Photoflo, to avoid water spots on dried film. About half the kits don't include a stabilizer. If your kit does not give you a stabilizer, wash the film as usual, and then give it a soak in a regular Photoflo solution before hanging to dry.

Always good to remove the dust although I believe the v600 has ICE which uses infrared light to eliminate dust. I’ve never used it but if it works well it would remove a little stress in being too precious about dust. From what I can see the scanner comes with various software that I would have imagined would have to convert the negatives rather than paying so much for an extra program… unless the lesser of the two programs is one of the 2 you compared and you just wanted to show another option - if so I’m not sure if I missed something or you forgot to mention the program came with it. Another option is that there was more software on the disc but it only gave you the basic operational program when you went to Epson.

I’ve been using OM’s since I was eighteen. The metering is centre weighted so the camera reads predominantly towards the middle of the frame. Next time try and point the camera at an area of mid tone (semi shadow) take a note of the reading then set the f number or shutter speed for that then re-compose and take the shot. This should increase the number of correct exposures.
